摘要： An apparatus is described for moulding a plastics component onto a length of flexible web material, particularly a paper tube coated with thermoplastic synthetic material, the apparatus comprising a complete injection unit (5), a nozzle (26), an injecting head portion (12), external mould portions (11,11') and a core (14) which can be moved relative to these. As a means of increasing the output of the apparatus given a continuous supply of the web material, the invention provides that the core (14) is arranged on the end of a mandrel (23) which carries the length of material (35) with it and which is part of a rotatable mandrel wheel driven in cadence about its drive shaft (3), with its mandrel (23) projecting radially in one plane, that the external mould portion (11, 11') has at least two mould portions (11, 11') which can be moved apart and together laterally of the mandrel (23) to free the circular path of the mandrel (23), and that the mould portions can be held together by bringing them into positive and frictional engagement with a movable head plate (12) at the nozzle side.

摘要： A quick change locator clamp assembly for a plastic molding machine having opposed top and bottom platens adapted to receive, mount and support a sectional die having top and bottom clamp plates which comprises laterally spaced pairs of opposed locator clamp assemblies mounted upon and projecting from the platens. Formed within the clamp plates on one side of the molding die are similarly spaced opposed pairs of locator slots. Each clamp assembly includes a locator key mounted upon a platen of a shape to snugly receive the corresponding clamp plate slot for locating the molding die in a predetermined position relative to the platens. A rotatable clamp is mounted upon the key and adapted for operative retaining engagement with an adjacent clamp plate. The sectional die includes a reciprocal ejector plate, there being at least one reciprocal knock-out bar on the molding machine. A reciprocal lifter plate within the bottom anchor plate is connected to the ejector plate and removably interlocked with the knock-out bar.

摘要： A wear sleeve having tapered ends is secured to a drill pipe by placing tapered split seal rings adjacent the ends of the sleeve to seal the annulus between the sleeve and pipe, introducing exothermically polymerically setting liquid epoxy plastics material into the annulus via a long elastomeric riser tube pushed into an inlet port in one seal ring until the epoxy rises well into another long elastomeric riser tube pushed into an exit port in the other seal ring, meanwhile heating the interior of the pipe within the sleeve to e.g. 150.degree. F. by blowing hot air through the pipe, and when the plastics material has set, rotating the riser tubes about their axes to break off the sprues, and removing the riser tubes and seal rings.
