Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for monitoring paging occasions. In one example, a mobile communication device defines a paging frame window (PFW) for a duration of time on a hop frequency or narrow band of frequencies indicated by a paging formula, and periodically wakes up to monitor the PFW for a page message. In another example, the mobile device receives a frame structure information at the start of a frame.

For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit multiplexing of multiple, different data streams without destroying the single-carrier properties of the waveform. Additionally, or alternatively, some techniques and apparatuses described herein may provide unequal error protection, unequal bandwidth allocation, and/or the like as part of the multiplexing schemes. Examples of multiplexing schemes described herein include in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) multiplexing, superposition quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) based at least in part on layered bit mapping, polarization division multiplexing of QAM with superposition coding, and frequency division multiplexing using UE-specific beams.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving timing information and a time-frequency resource configuration for an uplink subframe; selecting at least a first set of time-frequency resources of the uplink subframe on which to transmit; and transmitting a grantless transmission on at least the first set of time-frequency resources. The time-frequency resource configuration identifies a correspondence between at least one receive beam in a set of one or more receive beams and at least one set of time-frequency resources in one or more sets of time-frequency resources of the uplink subframe. The first set of time-frequency resources is selected based at least in part on a transmit beam of the UE, a correspondence of the transmit beam to a receive beam in the set of one or more receive beams, and a correspondence of the receive beam to the selected first set of time-frequency resources.

Abstract: When a base station is capable of using multiple different types of waveforms for a downlink communication to a UE, the UE may waste processing resources attempting to receive and/or process the downlink communication. For example, the UE may cycle through various possible types of waveforms in an attempt to process the downlink communication. Techniques described herein use waveform signaling for downlink communications to notify the UE of a type of waveform being used for a downlink communication, thereby conserving UE resources (e.g., processing resources, memory resources, RF resources, and/or the like) that would otherwise be wasted attempting to process the downlink communication using multiple types of waveforms.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for wireless communication in the unlicensed spectrum between an eNB and UEs having different bandwidths, e.g., between a narrowband UE and a wideband eNB. A UE apparatus transmits uplink transmissions in a plurality of transmission units and hops frequency bands in a first pattern across frames based on a base station hopping pattern. The apparatus may transmit uplink transmissions based on dual hopping patterns, and may hop in a second pattern across transmission units within the base station's channel occupancy within a frame. A base station apparatus may hop frequency bands in a first pattern across frames based on a base station hopping pattern, and may receive uplink transmissions in a narrowband from a UE in a plurality of transmission units within the frequency bands based on the base station hopping pattern.

Abstract: A DRX/eDRX cycle may include a single PFW located in one of the non-anchor hopping frames and used to transmit a paging message. When the LBT procedure fails for the non-anchor hopping frame in which the PFW is located, transmission of the paging message may be delayed. Postponing the transmission of the paging message until a subsequent DRX/eDRX cycle be detrimental since the UE may not receive the change in system information at the next modification boundary. Thus, there is a need for paging mechanism the increases the chance of a UE receiving a paging message during a DRX/eDRX cycle. The present disclosure provides a paging mechanism that uses a PSFW with a PFW in each non-anchor hopping frame within a DRX/eDRX cycle. Hence, the chance of a UE receiving a paging message and hence the change in system information may be increased.

The first wireless communication device transmits, in the first channel based on the first configuration, a second occupancy indication signal associated with the first TXOP in the first channel during a channel monitoring occasion of the first set of channel monitoring occasions within the first TXOP.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to power control for independent links. For example, power control at a device may be based on transmissions on multiple links. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). For example, the first device may communicate with a second device (e.g., a TRP) via a first link and communicate with a third device (e.g., a TRP) via a second link. In some scenarios, power control for the first device may be based on power control commands received on multiple links. In some scenarios, a power control constraint may be met taking into account the transmission power on multiple links.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to applying variable cyclic prefix (CP) lengths to symbols within a transmission period in a wireless network are provided. A first wireless communication device identifies a first cyclic prefix (CP) configuration for a transmission period. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device during the transmission period, a first communication signal including a first plurality of symbols, wherein each of the first plurality of symbols include an individually configurable CP length configured based on the first CP configuration. A first symbol of the first plurality of symbols includes a first CP length. A second symbol of the first plurality of symbols includes a second CP length that is longer than the first CP length.
