Abstract: Methods and apparatus for flexible bandwidth operation in a wireless communication network are provided. A User Equipment (UE) monitors a first set of resources for a first control channel in a first bandwidth region. In response, to detecting the first control channel, the UE monitors a second set of resources in a second bandwidth region for at least one of control information or data, the second bandwidth region larger than the first bandwidth region, wherein the monitoring the second set of resources for the control information includes monitoring the second set of resources for a second control channel for receiving the control information scheduling resources for receiving the data.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to downlink (DL) based and uplink (UL) based positioning reference signal (PRS) techniques that may help facilitate positioning procedures in systems deploying narrowband devices, such as narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) devices. An exemplary method that may be performed by a node includes monitoring for positioning reference signals (PRS) transmitted from one or more base stations within a narrowband region of a wider system bandwidth, wherein tones of the PRS are repeated across at least one of multiple symbols within a same subframe, or multiple consecutive subframes, and estimating timing from the one or more base stations based on the PRS.

In an aspect, the apparatus may configure at least a first resource set and a second resource set for a control channel. The first and second resource sets may be configured with a common reference signal configuration. Abstract: In order to reduce ambiguity in NB-SSS and complexity of receiver processing, a transmitter apparatus generates an SSS, wherein the SSS signal comprises a sequence of OFDM symbols, wherein each symbol of the sequence of SSS symbols is mapped to a codeword symbol of an FEC code. Source symbols of the sequence of SSS symbols carry a PCID and frame timing information, and parity symbols of the sequence of SSS symbols introduce redundancy and coding gain. A receiver receives the NB-SSS over multiple OFDM symbols, each symbol of the SSS comprising a short ZC sequence with a combination of root index and cyclic shift. The apparatus derives path metrics using cross-correlation for each of the plurality of symbols, determines a candidate SSS source message based on the derived path metrics and coding constraints of FEC codewords, and identifies a PCID and timing information based on the candidate SSS source message.
