摘要: A communication apparatus includes signal generation circuitry which, in operation, generates a control signal including a plurality of user specific fields, each of the plurality of user specific fields including an Association ID (AID) subfield for specifying a corresponding terminal station, and transmission circuitry which, in operation, transmits the control signal, wherein one of a plurality of AIDs for scheduled access or one of a plurality of random access IDs for random access is assigned to the AID subfield in each of the plurality of user specific fields, and each value of the plurality of random access IDs indicates a type of a terminal station which can perform random access to the at least one resource unit.

The method includes processing a first request for buffer status received from an access point (AP) and transmitting, during the first uplink multi-user transmission to the AP and in response to the first request for buffer status, a first uplink null data packet including a signal indicating existence of data to be sent from a station (STA) to the AP. The first request for buffer status schedules a first uplink multi-user transmission indicating a plurality of resources indicating existence of data to be sent to the AP. Transmitting the first uplink null data packet includes the STA transmitting the signal on a first resource of the plurality of resources.
