Abstract: A lifting apparatus comprises: a base part, a lifting rope, a sheave assembly, a first rotatably mounted sheave, around which the rope passes and from which the rope extends downwardly to a load, a second rotatably mounted sheave and a drive for moving the sheave assembly. The sheave assembly is mounted for pivotal movement relative to the base part about an axis of pivoting spaced from the axis of rotation of the first sheave and coincident with the axis of rotation of the second sheave. During movement of the load relative to the base part, the first sheave is moved by the drive to compensate for that relative movement, the movement of the first sheave being such that the vertical component of the movement of the first sheave relative to the load is less than the vertical component of the movement of the base part relative to the load.

Abstract: A system for connecting two conduits in a body of water, exhibits a first tubular structure, which is coupled to a conduit that extends along a first longitudinal axis; a second tubular structure, which is coupled to another conduit that extends along a second longitudinal axis and comprises a tubular member, and a sleeve, which is telescopically coupled to the tubular member, and faces the first tubular structure; and an actuating assembly, which comprises a bidirectional translating device configured to selectively displace the sleeve forward and backward to selectively couple and uncouple an end portion of the sleeve and the first tubular structure.

Abstract: An internal line-up clamp (20), for aligning two pipes to be welded together, includes a hi-lo measurement system, for example includes a laser source (24) and camera system (22), mounted on the internal line-up clamp (20) and arranged to make a hi-lo measurement (d), indicative of the degree of alignment of the pipes (10a, 10b). The measurement may be made when two pipes are clamped together by means the internal line-up clamp (20). The pipes may then be welded together, whilst the pipes remain clamped together in the same position, and whilst the hi-lo measurement system remains inside the pipes.

Abstract: A damping device (1) for pipelines (2) includes a compression ring (3) with three ring segments (4) that can be positioned around a pipe (2). Each ring segment (4) forms a damper seat (8) that receives at least one damping element (9) made of elastomeric material intended to be radially compressed against an outer surface of the pipe (2). The damper seat (8) is in shape connection with the damping element (9) so as to prevent the damping element (9) from being released from the damper seat (8) in an axial direction and in a radial direction.

Abstract: A joining device of a continuous conduit is for changes in slope of seabeds. The continuous conduit defines a longitudinal direction substantially coinciding with the longitudinal direction of structural development of the continuous conduit. The continuous conduit has a longitudinal structural continuity and a fluidic continuity. The joining device includes a joint that includes at least one first joining branch, at least one second joining branch and at least one third joining branch. The first joining branch extends along the longitudinal direction and provides longitudinal structural and fluidic continuity of the continuous conduit and connects with a piece of the continuous conduit. The second joining branch provides longitudinal structural continuity of the continuous conduit. The third joining branch provides fluidic continuity of the continuous conduit. The second joining branch is exclusively suitable for providing the longitudinal structural continuity of the continuous conduit, and is unsuitable for providing the fluidic continuity.

Abstract: A detection system to check the position of a pipeline in a bed of a body of water and extending along a predetermined route; the system comprising a device, which is configured to be moved in a moving direction and along the predetermined route and comprises a support, which mainly extends transversely to the moving direction, a quantity of acoustic wave sources, which are mounted on the support and are configured to transmit acoustic waves through the body of water and the bed of the body of water, and a quantity of acoustic wave receivers, which are located along the support and are configured to receive reflected acoustic waves and emit reception signals related to the reflected acoustic waves; and a processing unit comprising an acquisition unit, which is configured to receive, from the outside, at least one datum selected within a group of known or expected data comprising: the known value of the cross-section of the pipeline, an expected value of the trenching height of the pipeline, the known shape of the pipeline, the expected bathymetric profile of the bed of the body of water, and an expected value of the position of the pipeline; the processing unit being configured to calculate a parameter related to the position of the pipeline in the bed of the body of water on the basis of the reception signals and of said at least one datum selected within the group of data.
