Abstract: A large-scale tool hoisting device for offshore electric power construction is provided. A steel cable retracted to winches is dried using the heat in the operating cabin, thereby preventing the steel cable from being in a wet state for a long time and being corroded by seawater. For different loads at the terminal of the steel cable, a transmission ratio between a drive wheel and a control wheel is changed through the sliding of the drive wheel. Without changing the rotational speed of the drive motor, the moving speed of the steel cable is effectively and correspondingly improved by reducing the pulling force of the steel cable, or a large pulling force can be provided for the steel cable by reducing the moving speed of the steel cable. The transmission ratio can be changed in the hoisting process.

Abstract: A vessel and a method for installation of a pile adapted to support an offshore wind turbine are described. The method includes a) suspending the pile from a hoisting cable in a substantially vertical orientation; b) providing a lower end of the pile in a pile holding system limiting horizontal motion of a pile portion held by the pile holding system; and c) lowering the pile with the pile being held by the pile holding system. The lowering includes at least lowering the pile through a splash zone of a body of water, and during step c), two tugger lines are directly or indirectly connected to the pile at a location between the pile holding system and the hoisting cable, said tugger lines being operated to damp motion of the pile in two respective horizontal directions.

Abstract: A system for holding a pile and being mounted on a vessel includes a support assembly and a pile holder. The support assembly provides compensation for wave-induced motion of the vessel to maintain a predetermined X-Y location of the pile holder. The pile holder has a center axis and is mounted on the support assembly so as to be tiltable about a substantially horizontal tilt axis relative to the support assembly. The pile holder has at least one ring which includes a ring structure and multiple pile engaging devices connected to the ring structure of the ring, distributed about the circumference of the ring. The substantially horizontal tilt axis of the system is located, with the pile extending substantially vertically through the at least one ring, further forward from the location at which the support assembly is mounted to the vessel than the center axis of the pile holder.

Abstract: In a vessel for installing a structure onto or into a seabed, multiple actuators comprised by a dynamic positioning system and a structure positioning system may be used for controlling a position and/or orientation of the structure. When two actuators are actuated simultaneously or in rapid succession, instabilities may occur. Furthermore, two actuators may be working in opposite directions or with opposite control goals. To increase stability and/or workability of the vessel's actuators, a supervisory control arrangement is provided to interconnect control systems of different actuators of the vessel, for example the dynamic positioning system and the structure positioning system. Where previously the dynamic positioning system and the structure position system were individually operating system, with the supervisory control arrangement one system can take into account an input and/or output of the other system.

Abstract: A device for monitoring deep-sea sediment environment in mining polymetallic nodules is provided. The monitoring system includes: acoustic Doppler flow profilers, a self-potential probe, a turbidity meter and an underwater camera. The invention can realize long-term in-situ observation of sediment disturbance, and can realize the mechanical recovery of probe rod-type equipment without large-scale mechanical devices, thereby reducing the overall weight of the recovery equipment and increasing the probability of successful equipment recovery. Compared with the existing long-term in-situ observation equipment on the seabed, it is more environmentally friendly, efficient, energy-saving and reliable.

Abstract: The invention relates to a transport and carrying device (2) for transporting and carrying a watercraft (4). In order to provide a device (2) for a watercraft (4), in particular for a motor-driven watercraft (4), which allows an easy and fast launch of the watercraft (4) even without a special launching device, it is proposed that the device (2) comprises:
two lateral floats (6) spaced at a predetermined distance from each other,
a connecting front element (8), which interconnects the two lateral floats (6) and keeps them at the predetermined distance from each other,
a surface-like support structure (10) attached laterally to the lateral floats (6) and preferably also at the front to the connecting element (8), wherein the support structure (10) has openings through which water can pass,
a receiving area (12) for the watercraft (4), between the lateral floats (6) and the connecting front element (8) and above the surface-like support structure (10), and
lifting elements (14), for attaching the transport and carrying device (2) to an external lifting device (22) and for lifting and lowering the transport and carrying device (2) by means of the lifting device (22).

Abstract: A lift and method for lifting equipment modules, and for providing for sideways loading equipment modules, or cargo containers, onto a mounting surface of a sea vessel, such as a ship or submarine. The lift comprises a frame for supporting the equipment modules or cargo containers, and includes a number of conveying beams for conveying the equipment module or cargo container in a sideways direction in relation to the frame, and means for lifting said conveying beams in a vertical direction. The method includes, providing a lift according to the invention; arranging an equipment module or cargo container onto the lift; maneuvering the lift on a ground surface into a position substantial parallel with the hull of said sea vessel; raising the equipment module or cargo container by the lift in a vertical direction to a specific vertical position in relation to a mission bay in said hull; conveying the equipment module or cargo container sideways into the mission bay, by said conveying beams; connecting the equipment module or cargo container to a number of anchoring points within the mission bay and retracting the conveying beams out of the mission bay.
