    Abstract: A heave compensator includes a main hydraulic cylinder including a first connection device located at an upper end of the main hydraulic cylinder and a first piston having a piston rod. The interior of the main hydraulic cylinder is divided by the first piston into an upper first chamber and a lower second chamber filled with hydraulic liquid. The piston rod has a second connection device located at a lower end of the piston rod. The heave compensator includes a lifting accumulator comprising a second piston dividing the interior of the lifting accumulator into a third chamber filled with gas and a fourth chamber filled with hydraulic liquid. The fourth chamber is fluidly connected to the second chamber by a first liquid conduit having a first actuator controlled valve regulating the flow of hydraulic liquid in the first liquid conduit. The heave compensator includes a lowering accumulator comprising a third piston dividing the interior of the lowering accumulator into a fifth chamber filled with gas and a sixth chamber filled with hydraulic liquid. The sixth chamber is fluidly connected to the second chamber by a second liquid conduit having a second actuator controlled valve regulating the flow of hydraulic liquid in the second conduit. The sixth chamber is fluidly connected to the fourth chamber by a third hydraulic liquid conduit comprising an actuator controlled pump unidirectionally regulating the flow of hydraulic liquid from the sixth chamber to the fourth chamber. The heave compensator further includes a sensor kit including a motion sensing unit registering the vertical movements of the main hydraulic cylinder, a logical controller unit including a processor loaded with a Valve Regulation Module containing logic commands which when executed controls and regulates the actuator of the first actuator controlled valve, the actuator of the second actuator controlled valve, and the actuator of the actuator controlled pump, and signal transferring lines electronically connecting the logic controller unit to the motion sensing unit of the sensor kit, the actuators of the first and the second actuator controlled valves, and the actuator of the actuator controlled pump.

    Abstract: A motion compensating crane for use on an offshore vessel having a hull with a design waterline, wherein the crane includes a revolving superstructure, a main boom mounted to the revolving superstructure and pivotally connected at an inner end thereof about a substantially horizontal boom pivot axis to the revolving superstructure, the main boom having a tip end remote from the inner end, a main boom luffing assembly adapted to set an angle of the main boom relative to the superstructure within a main boom working angle range, a rigid jib frame pivotally connected to the tip end of the main boom about a substantially horizontal jib frame pivot axis, and a level setting assembly adapted to set the rigid jib frame in a levelled position whilst the main boom has an angle within the main boom working angle range. The rigid jib frame is provided with a set of parallel X-direction tracks which are substantially horizontal in the levelled position of the rigid jib frame. The crane further has a mobile carrier supported by the X-direction tracks and movable by a motor powered X-motion displacement actuator assembly. The mobile carrier is provided with one or multiple parallel Y-direction tracks and a mobile jib hoist cable suspension member is supported by the one or more Y-direction tracks and movable relative thereto.

    Abstract: A pleasure boat with a system for launching/hauling a water craft is provided. The system includes a platform movable from a first position, in which it is substantially flush with the floor of the parking area of the boat, to a second position, in which it is below the water surface. The system also includes a cradle for the water craft, a guiding system for the cradle which comprises first guides extending in the parking area and second guides extending on the platform, and a handling system. The handling system includes a first handling assembly, arranged in the parking area to move the cradle along the first guides, and a second handling assembly, arranged in the platform to move the cradle along the second guides. The system allows the water craft to be automatically transferred from the parking area to the platform, and vice versa, with no manual intervention.

    Abstract: A device for tensioning an elongated hoisting member, comprises: a first friction-generating member rotatably supported around a first support member; a second friction-generating member rotatably supported around a second support member, the first and second friction-generating members being adapted to provide friction to the elongated hoisting member when the friction-generating members are pressed against each other with a portion of the elongated hoisting member therebetween. A brake is provided for braking the rotation of the friction-generating members around the support members. There is also described a system that includes such a device, as well as a method for operating such a system.
