    摘要: An internal combustion engine with a noise-suppressing encapsulation has a drive wheel for auxiliary units which is driven by the crankshaft of the engine and arranged outside the encapsulation. The drive wheel consists of two concentric parts which are connected via at least one elastic member. The inner part of the drive wheel has cooling air ducts which extend from inlet ends on the side opposite an opening in the encapsulation wall to a exit ends on the side adjacent the opening, the exit ends being spaced a greater distance from the axis of rotation than the inlet ends, although still lying within the noted opening. Thus a blower is provided in the form of a centrifugal pump. A cover is connected to the outer part of the drive wheel which covers the inner part and has sound-isolated suction openings for the cooling air.

    摘要: A bladed fan has an inlet shroud formed with a bell-mouthed inlet section which extends to an annular skirt portion affixed to the tips of the blades of the fan. The fan and the shroud are immersed within a shroud fixed to an engine cooling radiator. This fixed shroud has an ejector section that extends to or beyond the rotating shroud and fan blading. The bell-mouthed inlet section has sufficient arc to prevent separation so that the fan operates at high efficiency and discharges air outwardly therefrom including the blockage of the clearance between the two shrouds to thereby effectively reduce air recirculation.

    摘要: Connection means for cooling fan assemblies are used to connect the fan assemblies to drive means such as viscous fluid couplings. The connection means includes a generally annular plate spring which has projections extending radially inward of an annular base and tongues projecting radially inwardly from the base. Each of the tongues is provided with a circumferential extension axially deformable and at the tip with an enlarged portion. The enlarged tip portions are secured to a casing of the drive means and the projections and the tongues are secured to a boss of the fan assembly with bolts. The arrangement that the projections, the tongues and the circumferential extensions are disposed inside of the base and the projections and the tongues are secured to the fan assembly serves to decrease vibration of the fan assembly and to increase the durability of the connection means.

    摘要: Disclosed is an engine drive type generator blower comprising a generator directly connected to the output shaft of the engine, and a blower directly connected to the rotary shaft of the generator. The engine is enclosed by a stationary duct having on its forward end a cold air inlet. A catalytic converter for purifying the exhaust gas is arranged in the stationary duct. The air inlet opening of the blower is enclosed by a rotary duct which can be connected to the stationary duct. When the rotary duct is connected to the stationary duct, hot air is discharged from the blower. When the rotary duct is directly opened into the atmosphere, cold air is discharged from the blower.

    摘要: A cooling device for liquid-cooled internal combustion engines, which device includes an annular radiator core or block which is traversed by the cooling air from the inside thereof toward the outside thereof, with a radial-flow fan or blower equipped with a rotor being arranged on the inside of the annular radiator core or block for axially sucking in the cooling air through an opening provided in a vehicle housing. A second annular radiator core or block for cooling the fuel for the internal combustion engine is disposed concentrically within the first-mentioned annular radiator core or block at a position downstream of the rotor, as viewed in the intake direction of the cooling air. The rotor of the radial-flow fan or blower is constructed such that a communication is provided between each vaned duct of the rotor and an annular rotor side chamber disposed within the second annular radiator core or block to effect a stream of cooling air through the second annular radiator core or block.

    摘要: An impeller is connected with a crankshaft of an engine and is positioned in a chamber for the conveyance of air, the impeller being formed with a gear. A starter motor drives a threaded shaft on which a pinion is mounted for travel between a first position in engagement with the gear on the impeller and a second position out of engagement with this gear. When the starter motor is actuated the pinion travels to its first position and the crankshaft is driven through the impeller, whereas after the engine has started the pinion is driven to its second position.
