    Abstract: An electric drive system for a three-phase PM electric machine. The drive system includes a split stator winding for each phase of the machine including a first winding section and a second winding section, and an inverter circuit including a pair of inverter switches for each phase, where the pair of inverter switches for each phase is electrically coupled to the first and second winding sections for that phase in the stator. An AC rotary machine controller executes, for each set, a flat-top two-phase modulation or a flat-bottom two-phase modulation; generates first comparison pulse wave and second comparison pulse wave; shifts one or both of paired the first comparison pulse wave and the second comparison pulse wave in an advance direction or a delay direction so that a rising timing of one of paired the first comparison pulse wave and the second comparison pulse wave coincides with a falling timing of the other.

    Abstract: A control apparatus for an electric motor that can improve ride comfort and operation stability is provided. The control apparatus includes: a rotor provided with one of a permanent magnet and a winding; and a stator provided with the other of the permanent magnet and the winding. The control apparatus includes a control part. When a temperature of the winding is lower than a predetermined temperature at activation of the electric motor, the control part controls a d-axis current to increase the temperature of the winding. When a rotation torque due to the d-axis current is generated at the rotor, the control part controls a q-axis current such that a rotation torque with the same magnitude as that of the rotation torque due to the d-axis current in a direction opposite to a direction of the rotation torque due to the d-axis current is generated at the rotor.

    Abstract: A driving and resistance control system for a permanent-magnet synchronous motor is disclosed. A control device includes a processing unit, a motor driving circuit, a resistance controller, and an interlock switch. In a first operation mode, the interlock switch makes the motor driving circuit and the permanent-magnet synchronous motor open-circuiting, and connecting stator windings of the permanent-magnet synchronous motor to the resistance controller, and under this condition, the external rotor of the permanent-magnet synchronous motor is rotated by spinning of a flywheel, so that the permanent-magnet synchronous motor is operating in a generator mode to generate a resisting force to the flywheel by mesas of a resistance generation device. In a second operation mode, the interlock switch makes the motor driving circuit and the permanent-magnet synchronous motor closed-circuiting and cutting off control of the resistance controller, and electrical energy is supplied from the power supply circuit to the permanent-magnet synchronous motor, so as to make the permanent-magnet synchronous motor operating in a motor mode to induce an acceleration on the external rotor.
