摘要: A capacitor-type power supply unit includes a capacitor block. The capacitor block has a plurality of capacitor cells and bus bars connecting the capacitor cells in series. A plurality of electronic circuit boards are connected respectively to the capacitor cells, for controlling corresponding ones of the capacitor cells. The electronic circuit boards and the bus bars are mounted on the capacitor cells.

摘要: A battery system for supplying electric energy from a primary battery or a secondary battery to a load. This system includes a battery consisting of the primary battery or the secondary battery, an electric double layer capacitor for storing electric energy from the battery, a limiting resistor for limiting the electric energy supplied from the battery to the electric double layer capacitor, and a discharge controller for controlling the electric double layer capacitor. The discharge controller causes the electric double layer capacitor to discharge the electric energy to the load intermittently in predetermined cycles while charging the electric double layer capacitor. A discharging time for discharging the electric energy from the electric double layer capacitor to the load is shorter than a charging time for charging the electric double layer capacitor with electric energy. At this time, a discharge current is greater than a charge current.

摘要: The electric double layer capacitor is designed such that a pair of electrode plates each having a lead terminal portion are positioned on upper and lower faces of an electric double layer capacitor element, the resulting assembly is resin-molded with a heat-resistant resin while applying a desired pressure to the assembly through the upper and lower electrode plates and the lead terminal portions are formed into shapes having L-shaped sections. This structure makes it possible to easily provide chip type electric double layer capacitors capable of being surface-mounted.

摘要: A controlled charge chromatography column for the purification of a fluid-containing material, which column comprises a chromatographic column having an inlet for the introduction of a fluid to be purified and an outlet for the discharge of the purified fluid, and one or more concentrated materials and a flow-through capacitor disposed within the column between the inlet and outlet, the flow-through capacitor means comprising a plurality of spirally wound or stacked washer layers to include a first electrically conductive backing layer, such as of graphite, and a first high surface area conductive layer secured to the backing layer, such as composed of porous carbon fibers and a non-conductive, porous spacer layer to electrically insulate the backing and conductive layer and to permit the flow of material therethrough, the flow-through capacitor to be connected to a DC power source to charge the respective conductive layers with different polarities whereby a fluid containing material through the colum is purified by the electrically conductive stationary phase and the retention thereof onto the high surface area layer and permitting for example the purification of solutions of liquids, such as salt, and providing for the recovery of a purified liquid.

The solid plate-like polarizing electrodes (61, 71) are counterposedly arranged by being separated with a separator (5). The paste-like polarizing electrodes (6, 7) are coated on the surfaces at the outside of the solid plate-like polarizing electrodes (61, 71). Since the paste-like polarizing electrodes (6, 7) contact also to the solid plate-like polarizing electrodes (61, 71) and the collecting electrodes (1, 2) well, the contact resistance becomes small.

摘要: In producing an electrical double-layer capacitor cell, when the polarizing electrode (61,71) is formed by sintering to the collecting electrode (11,21) obtained by sintering a conductive powder into plate-like form, the contact resistance between the collecting electrode (11,21) and the polarizing electrode (61,71) becomes extremely small. Thereby, the internal resistance of the electrical double-layer capacitor cell becomes small.

摘要: The invention relates to an electric double layer capacitor in which a metallic piece for a case at the side of an anode is formed with an aluminum layer. The aluminum layer has an electrochemically stable anodized film according to an applied voltage and has so low a resistance as not to present any practical problem. This property is effectively utilized to impart a breakdown voltage not less than 3 V to the capacitor.
