Abstract: A luminaire includes a housing defining an interior volume. The luminaire also includes a lamp within the interior volume and configured to emit light. Additionally, the luminaire includes a wireless antenna positioned within the interior volume, configured to transmit or receive a wireless signal along a first direction, and configured to be operatively coupled to an access point. The wireless antenna can be entirely within the interior volume. The luminaire can include a first reflective surface within the interior volume and configured to redirect the wireless signal. The lamp can be configured to be electrically coupled to a power inserter that powers the access point.

Abstract: An antennas-in-package (AiP) verification board is provided, which includes a carrier board configured for disposing an antenna array or an electronic circuit; and a plurality of SMPM connectors. The AiP verification board is fixed on a beamforming test platform. In addition to the aforementioned AiP verification board, an AiP verification board including a plurality of adaptor structures and an AiP verification board including a plurality of connectors and a plurality of adaptor structures are also provided.

Abstract: An antenna is described. This antenna includes: a ground plane; and antenna elements that are positioned in a first horizontal plane offset along a vertical direction from the ground plane. Moreover, the antenna elements are configured to generate a beam having a horizontal polarization. Furthermore, the antenna includes a planar reflector that is positioned in a second horizontal plane offset along the vertical direction from the first ground plane, so that the antenna elements are positioned between the ground plane and the planar reflector. During operation, a first reflection from the ground plane, the beam from the antenna elements, a second reflection from the planar reflector and diffractions from edges of the ground plane and the planar reflector combine to generate an antenna radiation pattern having a main beam approximately in a horizontal direction, e.g., at 10-15° from the horizontal direction.

Abstract: Systems and devices relating to dipole antennas. The beamwidth of a crossed dipole antenna is widened by providing a parasitic monopole antenna adjacent to the crossed dipole antenna. In one configuration, each arm of the crossed dipole antenna has, adjacent to it, a parasitic monopole antenna. In another configuration, the crossed dipole antenna is surrounded by a number of other crossed dipole antennas acting as parasitic monopole antenna elements. The center or primary crossed dipole antenna can be for low band signals while the secondary crossed dipole antennas are for high band signals.

Second, third, and fourth radios are operable to cause the respective antennas within the respective reflective chambers to radiate electromagnetic energy and the respective reflective chamber is to reflect the electromagnetic energy in a respective direction away from the housing.
