Abstract: A multibeam antenna including a substrate, and further includes an antenna element, a first guiding apparatus, and a second guiding apparatus disposed on the substrate. The antenna element includes a first pole configured to receive a feeding signal and a second pole that is grounded. The first guiding apparatus enables a first beam generated by the antenna element to radiate in a first direction, and the second guiding apparatus enables a second beam generated by the antenna element to radiate in a second direction. A phase center of the antenna element is at an intersecting point of a first axis and a second axis, the first axis passing through a phase center of the first guiding apparatus and parallel to the first direction, and the second axis passing through a phase center of the second guiding apparatus and parallel to the second direction.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for calibrating a LiDAR system at a first location with a radar system at a second location. A calibration target is placed at a location and orientation with respect to the LiDAR system and the radar system. Coefficients of a plane of the calibration target are determined in a frame of reference of the LiDAR system. Coordinates of the calibration target are determined in a frame of reference of the radar system. A cost function is composed from a planar equation that includes the determined coefficients and the determined coordinates and a relative pose matrix that transforms the frame of reference of the radar system to the frame of reference of the LiDAR system. The cost function is reduced to estimate the relative pose matrix for calibration of the LiDAR system with the radar system.

Abstract: A radio frequency antenna uses an array of spherical lens and mechanically movable radio frequency (RF) elements along the surface of the spherical lens to provide cellular coverage for a narrow geographical area. The antenna includes at least two spherical lens, where each spherical lens has an associated element assembly. Each element assembly has a track that curves along the contour of the exterior surface of the spherical lens and along which a radio frequency (RF) element can move. The antenna also includes a phase shifter configured to adjust a phase of the signals produced by the RF elements. The antenna includes a control mechanism configured to enable a user to move the RF elements along their respective tracks, and automatically configure the phase shifter to modify a phase of the output signals from the elements based on the relative positions between the RF elements.
