Abstract:
The present invention integrates an actuated tilting rehabilitation table, video tracking of the patient arm and opposite shoulder, a low-friction forearm support with grasping force sensing, remote data transmission and additional weighing means, one or more large displays, a computer and a plurality of simulation exercises, such as video games. The patient can be monitored by a local or remote clinician. The table tilts in order to increase exercise difficulty due to gravity loading on the patient's arm and shoulder. In one embodiment, the present the invention includes an actuated tilting table which tilts in four degrees of freedom.
Abstract:
The vision protection method and system thereof is provided to ensure a viewer to rest his/her eyes after viewing on an electronic device for a certain period, wherein the eyesight protection method includes the steps of detecting one of more working parameters of the viewer in responsive to a preset working threshold in a working mode of the electronic device during the viewer is working on a current work displaying by the electronic device; switching the working mode of the electronic device to a resting mode; and switching the electronic device from the resting mode back to the working mode to resume the display of the current work of the electronic device. Therefore, the viewer is enforced to rest his/her eyes after every certain period.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is system, method and apparatus to capture and retrieve personalized mood icons. A personalized mood icon may be used to express a mood, tone, emotion, etc., and may comprise one or more components, including without limitation one or more visual and/or audible components. An icon may be generated from a media item depicting a user and a mood of the user. For example, an icon may be generated from a media item comprising one or more of still image, video, audio, multimedia, etc. content. An icon may comprise content from one or more media items and/or content portions of one or more media items. An icon may comprise a textual component, such as for example a textual title or description of the mood, tone, motion being portrayed using the icon.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for obtaining affective state from physical data related to touch in a computing device with a touch screen display. The method includes obtaining, from the touchscreen display in the computing device, touch data related to physical characteristics of the touch input, the touch data being collected during computing exercises that impact affective phenomena, obtaining, from performance of the computing exercises on the computing device with a touch screen display, affective phenomena data, and determining a predictive relationship between the affective phenomena data and the touch data. In one instance, the touch data related to physical characteristics of the touch input is obtained from raw touch data. The system performs the method.
Abstract:
An electrocardiogram (ECG) signal sensing module is provide. The ECG signal sensing module includes at least one touchpad button, for producing a press signal when being pressed; at least one sensing electrode, mounted on the at least one touchpad button and moving in unison with the at least one touchpad button, for measuring the voltage on the portion thereof touched by a user; an electrocardiogram signal processor, coupled to the at least one sensing electrode, for processing the voltage on the at least one sensing electrode and producing an ECG signal; and a transmission interface, coupled to the at least one touchpad button and the electrocardiogram signal processor, for outputting the press signal and the ECG signal to a computer.
Abstract:
Consumer electronic devices have been developed with enormous information processing capabilities, high quality audio and video outputs, large amounts of memory, and may also include wired and/or wireless networking capabilities. Additionally, relatively unsophisticated and inexpensive sensors, such as microphones, video camera, GPS or other position sensors, when coupled with devices having these enhanced capabilities, can be used to detect subtle features about users and their environments. A variety of audio, video, simulation and user interface paradigms have been developed to utilize the enhanced capabilities of these devices. These paradigms can be used separately or together in any combination. One paradigm automatically creating user identities using speaker identification. Another paradigm includes a control button with 3-axis pressure sensitivity for use with game controllers and other input devices.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide apparatus, systems and methods for detecting neurological activity indicative of a dream state of a human. Many embodiments of the invention provide apparatus, systems and methods for detecting neurological activity of a human indicative of a dream state or the onset thereof and delivering an input to the user (such as an audio or other sensory input) during the dream state. Particular embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for detecting neurological activity indicative of the onset or occurrence of a dream state of a human and delivering an audio or other sensory input during the user's dream state. The audio input may be used for learning, delivering messages to the user's subconscious, and/or promoting a state of relaxation.
Abstract:
Information about a device may be emotively conveyed to a user of the device. Input indicative of an operating state of the device may be received. The input may be transformed into data representing a simulated emotional state. Data representing an avatar that expresses the simulated emotional state may be generated and displayed. A query from the user regarding the simulated emotional state expressed by the avatar may be received. The query may be responded to.
Abstract:
A system and method for selecting a program to present to a consumer includes detecting facial regions in an image, detecting hand gestures in an image, identifying one or more consumer characteristics (mood, gender, age, hand gesture, etc.) of said consumer in the image, identifying one or more programs to present to the consumer based on a comparison of the consumer characteristics with a program database including a plurality of program profiles, and presenting a selected one of the identified program to the consumer on a media device.
Abstract:
A system includes one or more computer processors that are configured to receive data relating to a composition of a target group, receive logged communications of the target group, extract textual information from the logged communications, analyze the textual information using statistical and linguistic sentiment analysis techniques, identify an individual or sub-group from the target group as a function of the analysis of the textual information, and display on a user interface or transmit to another processor the identified individual or sub-group of the target group and to display on the user interface or transmit to another processor a sentiment assessment of the identified individual or sub-group as a function of the statistical and linguistic sentiment analysis.
