Abstract:
There is disclosed a topical composition having substantially undifferentiated plant seed cells and, preferably, a pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable vehicle. There is also a method for topically applying the composition. There are also methods for delivering a consistent level of an active to skin, nail, lips and/or hair and for enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of a topical composition having substantially undifferentiated plant seed cells.
Abstract:
A method of making a red pigmented composition is disclosed which includes (a) preparing an aqueous extract of Garcinia indica fruit comprising at least one red colorant; (b) treating the extract with a cation exchange resin so that one or more red colorant associates with the resin; (c) eluting the red colorant from the resin with an eluting solution containing one or more alcohol such as methanol, ethanol and isopropanol and one or more acid such as hydrochloric acid, citric acid, acetic acid, tartaric acid and hydroxy citric acid to yield a red-colored eluate; (d) collecting and concentrating the eluate to provide a concentrate; and (e) adding an antioxidant agent and/or placing the concentrate in an aseptic container in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. A combination comprising the resulting stabilized Garcinia extract in aseptic packaging in a non-oxidizing atmosphere is also disclosed, along with methods of use.
Abstract:
A bioactive fraction obtained from Xylocarpus that is useful for the treatment of diabetes and dyslipidemia. This fraction can be provided in a pharmaceutical composition that is useful as antidiabetic and antidyslipidemic agent, or can be used in a method of treating diabetes and dyslipidemia in a subject. Also, a process for the preparation of bioactive fraction from Xylocarpus. Novel isomeric xyloccensins and the preparation of such compounds. Also, pharmaceutical compositions comprising a therapeutically effective amount of such novel isomeric xyloccensins optionally along with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, additives, lubricant and diluents and the use of such pharmaceutical compositions in a method for treating dyslipidemia.
Abstract:
Certain compounds have been shown to provide antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. These compounds can provide some of the beneficial aspects of medicinal antibiotics without damaging or destroying beneficial bacteria in the human body. By combining these compounds into a single product in capsule form, an effective wide-spectrum natural ‘antibiotic’ can be produced, without the negative side effects of medicinal antibiotics. This product can destroy harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungi without eliminating beneficial bacteria or creating medicine-resistant strains.
Abstract:
There are disclosed topical cosmetic compositions having at least one natural active ingredient and a pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable vehicle. There is also a method for improving the aesthetic appearance of skin, hair and/or nails that includes topically applying the compositions of the present invention.
Abstract:
The present invention features a composition including (i) an oxygen labile active agent, and (ii) a plant extract selected from Chrysanthellum extract, Neem extract, Lanatellys extract, Bacopa Monnieri extract, and Olive leaf extract.
Abstract:
There is provided a composition having at least one of the following active extracts Butea frondosa, Naringi crenulata, Stenoloma chusana, or any combinations thereof. There is also provided a composition having at least one of the following additional extracts Azadirachta indica, Glycyrrhiza glabra linn., Morinda citrifolia, tomato glycolipid or any combinations thereof in combination with one or more of the active extracts. The compositions and methods of the invention are effective to lighten hair, skin, lips and/or nails.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of modulating a selected biological activity of a naturally occurring material having one or more biological activities in an extract of the naturally occurring material, the method comprising incubating the extract in a medium in the presence of an aerobically metabolizing microorganism, under suitable aerobic conditions, for a period of time sufficient to modulate the selected activity with respect to baseline activity of the unincubated extract. The invention also relates to the bioconverted material so prepared, and the use of same in cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions.
Abstract:
A therapeutic or an edible composition comprising at least three of the five herbs selected from Prunus amygdales, Ocimum sanctum, Azadirachta indica, Aegle marelose and Vitus vinefera, is provided for the treatment of hyperglycemia, especially for non-insulin dependent diabetic subjects, and the herbal composition has significantly reduced the blood glucose levels in both diabetic and non-diabetic experimental subjects having elevated blood glucose levels.
Abstract:
There are disclosed topical cosmetic compositions having at least one natural active ingredient and a pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable vehicle. There is also a method for improving the aesthetic appearance of skin, hair and/or nails that includes topically applying the compositions of the present invention.
