A method includes measuring electrical activity at multiple points on a surface of a heart of a patient. User input indicative of a spectral slice selected from a frequency band is received. Respective levels of the electrical activity within the selected spectral slice are calculated. The calculated levels are displayed on a map of the heart.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) device includes a processor (114), a memory (116) coupled to the processor and an interface (120) configured to generate an edit window and configured to permit user input in the edit window. A type ahead module (124) is stored in the memory and is responsive to input entered in the edit window. The type ahead module is configured to predict a next word, phrase, interpretation code or category being input by a user based on a subset of alphanumeric key strokes and a context probability associated with a list of possible ECG entries. A report review and edit module (128) may also be stored in the memory. The report review and edit module is configured to update a severity of an ECG report based upon current ECG interpretation statements and rules in accordance with an access or edit operation by an operator.

Systems and methods are provided to detect subwaveforms of an ECG waveform. Electrical impulses are detected between at least one pair of electrodes of two or more electrodes placed proximate to a beating heart and are converted to an ECG waveform for each heartbeat of the beating heart using the detector. One or more subwaveforms within P, Q, R, S, T, U, and J waveforms of the ECG waveform for each heartbeat or in an interval between the P, Q, R, S, T, U, and J waveforms that represent the depolarization or repolarization of an anatomically distinct portion of muscle tissue of the beating heart are detected using a signal processor. A processed ECG waveform that includes the one or more subwaveforms for each heartbeat is produced using the signal processor. The processed ECG waveform is received from the signal processor is displayed using a display device.

A measurement system of respiration-related signals includes a plurality of electrodes, an ECG processing device, and an analysis device. The ECG processing device acquires a first analog differential signal and a second analog differential signal through the electrodes and generates a Lead-I ECG signal and a Lead-II ECG signal which is orthogonal to the Lead-I ECG signal after processing the two analog differential signals. The analysis device executes a trigonometric function to calculate angle change values of a cardiac axis based on the acquired Lead-I ECG signal and the Lead-II ECG signal, and further generate a cardiac axis angle change waveform according to the continuous angle change values. Accordingly, the cardiac axis angle change waveform is suitable for the prediction of respiratory conditions of the participant because of the high positive correlation between the frequency of the cardiac axis angle change waveform and the human respiratory frequency.

A system for detecting impending acute cardiac decompensation of a patient includes impedance circuitry, an activity sensor, and a processor system. The impedance circuitry measures a hydration signal of the patient, wherein the hydration signal corresponds to a tissue hydration of the patient. The activity sensor to measure an activity level of the patient, and the processor system includes a computer readable memory in communication with the impedance circuitry and the activity sensor, wherein the computer readable memory of the processor system embodies instructions to combine the hydration signal and the activity level of the patient to detect the impending acute cardiac decompensation.

An efficient system for diagnosing arrhythmias and directing catheter therapies may allow for measuring, classifying, analyzing, and mapping spatial electrophysiological (EP) patterns within a body. The efficient system may further guide arrhythmia therapy and update maps as treatment is delivered. The efficient system may use a medical device having a high density of sensors with a known spatial configuration for collecting EP data and positioning data. Further, the efficient system may also use an electronic control system (ECU) for computing and providing the user with a variety of metrics, derivative metrics, high definition (HD) maps, HD composite maps, and general visual aids for association with a geometrical anatomical model shown on a display device.

Systems and methods can be used to determine activation information for points along a surface or selected region of interest. In one example, a computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for performing a method that includes computing a local activation vector based on relative timing among electrical signals corresponding to neighboring points of a plurality of points on a surface envelope. An activation time can be computed for each of the plurality of points as a function of corresponding local activation vectors.

The current subject matter relates to indicating extent and location of myocardial ischemia in a patient. Electrodes can be placed on a body of the patient. Signal amplifiers can receive orthogonal electrical signals from the electrodes via three bipolar leads. The signal amplifiers can amplify the signals and send the amplified signals to analog to digital converters. The analog to digital converters can convert the amplified signals to digital signals. A computing device can execute a data analysis application that can receive these digital signals, generate QRS complexes associated with these signals, generate depolarization vectors associated with these QRS complexes, and then determine changes in magnitudes and directions of these vectors. Based on the changes in magnitudes and directions, the data analysis application can determine and display extent and location of myocardial ischemia in the patient. Related apparatus, systems, methods, techniques and articles are also described.
