    摘要: A cordless telephone system includes a master unit permanently connected to a wire telephone line, and a plurality of subsidiary units connected to the master unit by radio. A calling subsidiary unit includes a transmitter for transmitting a signal for requesting speech communication with another called subsidiary unit to the master unit through a radio channel which is monitored by the master unit, and a transmitter for transmitting a signal for calling the called subsidiary unit to the called subsidiary unit through a speech communication channel through which direct speech communication with the called subsidiary unit can be performed. The master unit includes a transmitter for receiving the signal for requesting speech communication from the calling subsidiary unit and transmitting a signal for requesting direct speech communication between the subsidiary units to the called subsidiary unit through a radio channel which is monitored by the called subsidiary unit. The called subsidiary unit includes transmitter which is started upon reception of the signal for requesting direct speech communication from the master unit, and receives the signal for calling the called subsidiary unit from the calling subsidiary unit through the speech channel.

    摘要: In a cellular communications system, the quality of a signal transmitted over a first two-way connection from a mobile station via a first base station is compared with a threshold to determine whether a handoff is to be performed to a second, adjacent base station. When the quality of the transmitted signal becomes lower than the threshold, a second two-way connection is established from the mobile station to the second base station, and a switching request signal and an information-bearing signal are sent from the mobile station over both connections to a switching exchange. In response to the request signal, one directional path of the first connection is cleared to prevent a version of the signal passing through the first connection from reaching the destination station, and a first switching complete signal is sent through the other path of the first connection to the mobile station to allow it to clear the first connection and return a second switching complete signal. The other path of the first connection is then cleared in response to the second switching complete signal, leaving the second connection between the mobile station and the second base station.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a low-pressure fuel feed system that feeds low-pressure fuel pressurized by a feed pump to first delivery pipes through a low-pressure fuel feed pipe, first injectors capable of injecting the low-pressure fuel into intake ports, a high-pressure fuel feed system that feeds high-pressure fuel pressurized by a high-pressure pump to second delivery pipes through a high-pressure fuel feed pipe, and second injectors capable of injecting the high-pressure fuel into combustion chambers. A bypass passage communicates the first delivery pipe with the second delivery pipe, and a check valve is provided in the bypass pipe for preventing flow of the fuel from the second delivery pipe to the first delivery pipe. Thus, transmission of fuel pressure pulsation caused by driving of the high-pressure pump is effectively restricted, so that an appropriate amount of fuel can be supplied to the engine for improved control of the air/fuel ratio.
