Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a capability of the UE relating to a carrier configuration of the UE, wherein the carrier configuration relates to carriers of at least two different numerologies; and transmit information identifying the capability, wherein the information identifying the capability identifies a bandwidth or number of carriers that is supported for carriers of a first numerology and one or more scaling values associated with one or more numerologies other than the first numerology. A base station may receive information identifying a capability of a UE relating to a carrier configuration of the UE, wherein the carrier configuration relates to carriers of at least two different numerologies; and determine a configuration for communication with the UE based at least in part on the information identifying the capability. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein enable synchronization of a user equipment (UE) identifier between a UE and a base station upon UE identifier reallocation, which enables the UE to use preconfigured uplink resources to reduce latency, reduce signaling overhead, or the like. For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein enable the UE to use preconfigured uplink resources when a UE identifier reallocation occurs between preconfigured uplink resource configuration and use of the preconfigured uplink resources by the UE to transmit uplink data.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for allocating additional random access channel (RACH) resources. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access request to a base station. The base station may respond to the random access request with a random access response or other signaling that indicates additional RACH resources for a second random access request. The UE may select a resource from the additional RACH resources to transmit the second random access request. The network may also configure additional RACH resources for peak times and may indicate the additional RACH resources to the UE. The UE may select a resource from the additional RACH resources or baseline RACH resources and may use the selected resource to transmit a random access request.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to determining a new multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration for a MBMS that is backward compatible with a legacy MBMS configurations. A base station determines a MBMS configuration. The MBMS configuration includes at least one non-optional field that indicates compatibility with a first user equipment (UE) having a first MBMS capability or compatibility with a second UE having a second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration also includes a sub-carrier spacing indication for a MBMS corresponding to the first MBMS capability or the second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration is broadcasted to the first UE and the second UE.

A UE may receive a unicast message over a first CC during a transmission time interval (TTI) using a first set of processing resources. The UE may simultaneously receive a multicast message over the first CC during the same TTI using a second set of processing resources. The first and second sets of processing resources may be associated with first and second hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) soft buffers, first and second CCs, or first and second transmit/receive points (TRPs).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A serving base station or a serving satellite may transmit a timing configuration to the UE based on a reference unit, such as a location at a beam center for a respective satellite, a threshold distance relative to the beam center for the respective satellite, a reference time, or any combination thereof. In some cases, the UE may monitor for one or more SSBs from the neighboring satellites according to the timing configuration and a respective propagation delay between the UE and each of the neighboring satellites. The UE may measure the SSBs according to the measurement gap and measurement window in the timing configuration. In some examples, the UE may perform a cell handover procedure or a cell reselection procedure based on measuring the SSBs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide a base station receiving an indication from a core network to serve multicast/broadcast traffic to one or more UEs. The base station may select a radio bearer mode from a plurality of radio bearer modes for delivery of the multicast/broadcast traffic to at least one UE of the one or more UEs. For example, the base station may select a multicast/broadcast only mode, a mixed multicast/broadcast mode and unicast mode, or a unicast mode for service of the traffic. Dependent on the selected mode and/or quality of service, the base station may select a dedicated radio bearer (DRB) for communication of the traffic in a unicast mode (e.g., to a particular UE) or a multicast radio bearer (MRB) for communication of the traffic in a broadcast/multicast mode.
