    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for video coding using ringing smoothing filter (RSF) are disclosed. According to one method, ringing smoothing filter (RSF) is applied to the reconstructed residuals to form smoothed reconstructed residuals or applied to an in-loop-filtered reconstructed block to form a smoothed-filtered reconstructed block for the current block, where the RSF corresponds to an edge-preserving filter. The ringing smoothing filter (RSF) may correspond to a bilateral filter. According to another method, adaptive RSF is derived based on information comprising Intra prediction mode or Inter prediction mode. In yet another method, whether to apply ringing smoothing filter (RSF) to a current block in the current image is determined based on one or more control flags. If the control flag(s) indicates the RSF being on for the current block, the RSF is applied to the current block.

    Abstract: A method for cross-color Intra prediction using the LM Intra mode using multi-row or multi-column neighboring reconstructed pixels for LM parameter derivation or using only top pixels or left pixels of neighboring pixels is disclosed. Multiple LM Intra modes can be used. For example, three LM Intra modes can be used and the LM parameters for the three LM Intra modes can be determined based on only the top pixels, only the left pixels and both the top pixels and left pixels of neighboring reconstructed pixels respectively. To remove the need for additional buffer requirement for deriving the LM parameters based on using multi-row or multi-column neighboring reconstructed pixels, the current method re-uses existing buffers, where the buffers are used for deblocking. A syntax element can be used to indicate one of the multi-LM modes selected.

According to the method, a set of MC (Motion Compensation) candidates with each MC candidate comprising predicted samples for coding boundary pixels of the current block are determined. The set of MC candidates comprises a first candidate, and wherein the first candidate corresponds to a weighted sum of first predicted pixels generated according to first motion information of the current block and second predicted pixels generated according to second motion information of a neighbouring boundary block of the current block. Boundary matching costs associated with the set of MC candidates are determined respectively. A final candidate is determined from the set of MC candidates based on the boundary matching costs.     Abstract: A method and apparatus for Overlapped Boundary Motion Compensation (OBMC) are provided. According to the method, input data associated with a current block is received, wherein the input data includes pixel data for the current block to be encoded at an encoder side or coded data associated with the current block to be decoded at a decoder side. An inter prediction tool from a set of inter-prediction coding tools is determined for the current block. An OBMC subblock size for the current block is determined based on information related to the inter prediction tool selected for the current block or the inter prediction tool of a neighboring block. Subblock OBMC is applied to a subblock boundary between a neighboring subblock and a current subblock of the current block according to the OBMC subblock size.
