    Abstract: 5G methods and architectures to determine active SCells and their bandwidth parts (BWP) used in carrier aggregation (CA) are disclosed in which activating a BWP for an active SCell is performed initially according to a default value provided in initial radio resource control (RRC) messaging. After initialization, SCells and the SCell BWPs used by the user equipment (UE) are activated by RRC messaging, downlink control information (DCI) or dedicated medium access control (MAC) control elements (MAC CEs) with the initial BWP used for an activated SCell being a default value provided during initialization.

    Abstract: Techniques for unifying split bearers at user equipment (UE) in an Evolved-Universal Terrestrial Radio Access-New Radio (E-ULTRA NR) dual connectivity (EN-DC) environment are described. According to various such techniques, a radio resource control (RRC) message can include an encapsulated configuration for a secondary cell group (SCG). Packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configurations for MN or SN split bearers can be included in the master cell group (MCG) configuration in the RRC message or in the encapsulated SCG configuration. In some examples, an RRC message can include an encapsulated SCG configuration and an encapsulated PDCP configuration, where the encapsulated PDCP configuration including PDCP configuration information for the MN or SN split bearer. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

An admission control scheme or a congestion control scheme can be enabled by determining a configured mapping based on various criteria, including a priority of V2X services, V2X packet Quality of Service (QoS) indications per packet, or other criteria. A UE can determine whether a packet is authorized via the sidelink channel based on the configured mapping.

The gNB may receive, from the UE, a first measurement report that indicates a first signal quality measurement based on new radio synchronization signals (NR-SS). The gNB may determine, based on reception of the first measurement report, a transmission direction for transmission of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS) for a second RRM measurement at the UE based on the CSI-RS. The gNB may receive, from the UE, a second measurement report that indicates a second signal quality measurement based on the CSI-RS. The gNB may determine, based at least partly on the first and second signal quality measurements, whether to initiate a handover of the UE from a serving cell to a neighbor cell.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for increasing paging opportunities when the unlicensed band is used. A user equipment (UE) may determine a plurality of different paging occasions (POs) to monitor per DRX cycle. The plurality of different POs corresponds to beam sweep repeats for a first set of UEs in an unlicensed band from a base station in a wireless network. The UE monitors the plurality of different POs to receive the paging message from the base station. The plurality of different POs may include respective physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasions. The plurality of different POs may include at least two consecutive POs associate with the first set of UEs within a same paging frame. Alternatively, the plurality of different POs may include at least two non-consecutive POs associated with the first set of UEs separated by at least cycle one other PO associated with a second set of UEs.
