摘要: The disclosure is directed to a system and method of operating a user equipment (UE) to make the new radio (NR) carrier aggregation more effective. The system and method can include at least: receiving a release message confirming release of the UE from a base station, the release message including Long Term Evolution radio access technology (RAT) frequencies and New Radio (NR) RAT frequencies; measuring during an IDLE state, the LTE RAT frequencies and the NR RAT frequencies; transmitting a resume request message to the base station, the resume request message including an indication of a measurement report available from the UE, the measurement report including frequency measurements for the LTE RAT frequencies and the NR RAT frequencies; and after a security setup with the base station, transmitting a resume complete message to the base station, the resume complete message including the measurement report with the LTE RAT frequency measurements and NR RAT frequency measurements.

摘要: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive, from a gNB, configuration information related to a 2-step random access (RA) procedure between the UE and the gNB in unlicensed spectrum. The 2-step RA procedure may include: an uplink MsgA message that includes, within a random access occasion (RO), a MsgA preamble and a MsgA payload; and a downlink MsgB message that includes, within another RO, a MsgB PDCCH and a MsgB payload. The configuration information may indicate: resources allocated for the MsgA preamble; and a mapping between the resources allocated for the MsgA preamble and the MsgA payload. The UE may determine the resources allocated for the MsgA payload based on the resources allocated for the MsgA preamble and the mapping.

摘要: Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The eNB may receive, from a UE, uplink control information (UCI) that indicates a hybrid automatic repeat request identifier (HARQ ID) for a grant-less uplink (GUL) transmission by the UE during a first sub-frame. The eNB may select, from candidate HARQ IDs, a HARQ ID for a scheduled uplink (SUL) transmission by another UE in a second sub-frame after the first sub-frame. The eNB may, if the GUL transmission is successfully decoded, include the HARQ ID for the GUL transmission in the candidate HARQ IDs for the GUL transmission. The eNB may, if the GUL transmission is not successfully decoded, exclude the HARQ ID for the GUL transmission from the candidate HARQ IDs for the GUL transmission.

摘要: A network device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), or a new radio NB (gNB)) can process or generate a configuration of a physical random access channel (PRACH) over physical resource blocks (PRBs) that are interlaced in an unlicensed band in an NR unlicensed (NR-U) communication. The PRBs in the PRACH can be based on an occupied channel bandwidth (OCB) of the unlicensed band in the NR-U communication. A random access channel transmission in the PRACH can then be generated by interlacing the PRBs defining the PRACH.

The memory interface is operable to receive a configuration of a frame from a memory, the frame is to be used for communications in a Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) system in a sub-1 GHz band, wherein the frame includes one or more anchor channels and one or more data channels. The processor is operable to encode uplink (UL) communication data for a base station or decode downlink (DL) communication data from the base station based on the configuration of the frame.

摘要: Systems and methods of measuring reference signals in a multefire scenario are described. A UE receives control information anchor channel dependent on whether the UE is in an adaptive frequency hopping system (FHS) and whether the FHS is a LBT FHS. The reference signals are received on an unlicensed band via the anchor and/or a non-anchor channel and measured for RRM and/or in-sync or out-of-sync measurements. RRM measurements are transmitted to the eNB for mobility management and otherwise the validity of an in- or out-of-sync indication is determined and a counter started when valid. The control information has a subframe configuration and resource allocation, which is used for SRS transmission on the non-anchor channel. Uplink scheduling information is received on the anchor channel for data transmission on the non-anchor channel based on the SRS.

The UE receive training signals from a plurality of transmit-receive points (TRPs) associated with the gNB. Each training signal may comprise a reference signal resource identifier (ID) to indicate a corresponding TRP and a corresponding transmit direction of a plurality of transmit directions. The UE may, for each transmit direction of the plurality of transmit directions, determine an average signal quality measurement based on individual signal quality measurements in multiple receive directions. The UE may select, for reporting to the gNB, a subset of the average signal quality measurements to ensure that the average signal quality measurements excluded from the subset are less than or equal to a minimum value of the average signal quality measurements in the subset.
