Abstract:
A vehicle pedal assembly with a stationary plastic pedal shaft structure made of different plastic materials and more specifically a vehicle pedal assembly with a pedal shaft including an exterior bearing surface adapted for abutting bearing contact with the surface of the drum of the pedal shaft. The bearing surface is made of a different plastic material that minimizes wear and friction between the shaft surface and the pedal drum surface. The pedal shaft includes opposed key shaped ends that are inserted into respective key hole shaped through-holes defined in the pedal assembly housing for aligning and securing the pedal shaft in the pedal housing.
Abstract:
An adjustable height, covered, foldable, configurable modifiable seat witha seat frame (comprising a bottom frame, a back frame, and an upper frame) and at least one frame opening defined by the contours of at least a portion of the seat frame. A bleacher hook is disposed on the seat frame. Lower hinges connect the bottom frame to the back frame and upper hinges connect the back frame to the upper frame. The lower and upper hinges can be locked to provide the frame with stability. A first support member is connected to the lower hinges and a second support member is connected to the upper hinges. A fabric is disposed over at least a portion of said seat frame and at least one frame opening. The modifiable seat is used by a user in a first, second, third, or fourth configuration.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus and method for use in training the proper technique of bunting a ball in baseball or softball. The apparatus comprises a sleeve configured to wrap around the bat, an elastic cord such as, a bungee cord extended from the sleeve and a coupling mechanism to couple the other end of elastic cord to the helmet of the player. The apparatus allows the player to bunt a ball with proper bat angle and distance from the player's eyes to the contact point of the bunt. The stretch in the elastic cord would allow the player to feel the bat moving away from the proper distance or bat angle.
Abstract:
An optical imager design that is capable of imaging a common scene to two or more optical systems, and is more compact in physical size and superior in throughput than previous designs is disclosed.
Abstract:
A clot extraction catheter comprises a tubular mesh, a rim attached to the tubular mesh proximal end, control wires, an inner sheath, a clot macerator advancable from the inner sheath, and an outer sheath advancable over the guidewire channel and inner sheath. To extract a clot, the catheter is advanced through the clot. The inner sheath is retracted, allowing the rim and the tubular mesh to expand as well as exposing the clot macerator. The tubular mesh is retracted to capture the clot, constrained proximally by the distal portion of the inner sheath, and retracted with the inner sheath into the outer sheath. The clot macerator breaks apart large clots as the clot is captured, and the tubular mesh is retracted over the clot macerator. The control wires may be manipulated to control the angle of the rim, thereby facilitating clot capture and retraction of the tubular mesh.
Abstract:
Scent cartridges for use in a networked scent diffusion device include a reservoir that holds a liquid and an atomizer head assembly. An anti-tampering identifier is associated with at least one of the reservoir and the atomizer head assembly. Scent diffusion from the device is based on the condition of the anti-tampering identifier.
Abstract:
An instrument used for brachytherapy delivery in the treatment of cancer by radiation therapy including a handle having first and second handle actuators; an end effector; and an instrument shaft that connects the handle with the end effector. The end effector has first and second adjacent disposed staple cartridges that each retain a set of staples. The first mechanism is for holding standard staples in a first array, and dispensing the standard staples under control of the corresponding first handle actuator. The second mechanism is for holding radioactive source staples in a second array, and dispensing said radioactive source staples under control of the corresponding second handle actuator. The actuating device is removably attachable to an actuator arm on a proximal end. A staple applicator cartridge holder is attached to the actuator arm on a distal end. The staple applicator cartridge is mountable in the holder and having a plurality of slots for mounting of radioactive source staples therein. An anvil therein crimps the staples.
Abstract:
An abrasion controlled caster wheel is described. When a sideways force is applied to a rear of a grocery shopping or material cart either during normal operation or when gathered in the parking lot, the caster wheel, at the rear position of the cart, will redirect its direction of travel or change its mount rigidity rather than scraping sideways across the wheel circumference.
Abstract:
Devices that are adapted to insert a sinus dilator into a stenotic opening of a paranasal sinus in a subject patient using minimally invasive insertion procedures are provided. The devices and methods can be used to treat sinusitis and other nasal and/or sinus disorders.
