    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a controller, and a data driver. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels. The controller is configured to: receive input image data for the display panel; divide the display panel into a plurality of first pixel blocks each having a first size; divide the display panel into a plurality of second pixel blocks each having a second size different from the first size; generate, based on the input image data, a first stress map for the plurality of first pixel blocks and a second stress map for the plurality of second pixel blocks; and generate output image data by compensating the input image data based on the first stress map and the second stress map. The data driver is configured to provide data voltages to the plurality of pixels based on the output image data.

    Abstract: A display device may compensate for such changes in characteristics of light emitting elements and transistors in pixels of a display. For example, a driving circuit of a display device may update a lookup table that stores one or more compensation values. Each compensation value may correspond to a characteristic change of a pixel. In some embodiments, the characteristic change of a transistor may be determined based on a sensing signal received from a dummy pixel. Accordingly, a display device may generate a compensation signal based on an actual characteristic change of the transistor in the pixel. The compensation signal may be used by the display device to compensate for pixel characteristic changes that occur over time. For instance, a display device may use such compensation signals to correct input signals (e.g., to generate a corrected output signal) to be applied to one or more pixels of a display.

A sensor is configured to sense a current of the second pixel during a sensing period and generate sensing data. A degradation compensator is configured to convert first image data into second image data. A data driver is configured to generate data signals based on the second image data and supply the data signals to the first pixels. The degradation compensator calculates an age of the first pixels based on accumulating the second image data, converts the first image data into the second image data by deriving a compensation value from representative compensation data according to the age of the first pixels, and calibrates the representative compensation data based on the sensing data.

The display panel includes a display surface, and the memory stores dither patterns with respect to at least one spot area included in the display surface. The dithering processor selects a dither pattern among the dither patterns in a predetermined time unit and outputs a compensation image signal corresponding to the dither pattern. The panel driver outputs a data signal corresponding to the spot area based on the compensation image signal. A viewing angle of the first pixels is different from a viewing angle of the second pixels.
