Abstract: An image sticking compensation device includes: a deterioration calculator which calculates deterioration data of a current frame based on input image data and sensing frequency information which are received from a timing controller; an accumulator which accumulates the deterioration data and generates age data in which the deterioration data is accumulated; and a compensator which determines a grayscale compensation value corresponding to the age data and an input grayscale value of the input image data, and outputs age compensation data by applying the grayscale compensation value to the input image data. The sensing frequency information includes a frequency of the current frame, and the deterioration data varies in accordance with the frequency of the current frame.

Abstract: A display device may include first pixels disposed in a display area and including respective first driving transistors. A second pixel is disposed in a non-display area and includes a second driving transistor. A sensor is configured to sense a current of the second pixel during a sensing period and generate sensing data. A degradation compensator is configured to convert first image data into second image data. A data driver is configured to generate data signals based on the second image data and supply the data signals to the first pixels. The degradation compensator calculates an age of the first pixels based on accumulating the second image data, converts the first image data into the second image data by deriving a compensation value from representative compensation data according to the age of the first pixels, and calibrates the representative compensation data based on the sensing data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for displaying an image during an initial driving period. An exemplary display device includes a timing controller configured to reconstruct compensation reference data from a first memory into a plurality of transmission data, sequentially transmit the plurality of transmission data to a second memory, and display an image on the display panel when partial transmission data of the plurality of transmission data are transmitted and stored to the second memory during the initial driving period.
