摘要: A pump including a power end (202) and a fluid end (204). A bore (214) extends through the fluid end (204). A rod (212) is disposed in the bore (214) of the fluid end (204) and extends into the power end (202). The rod (212) includes a reduced diameter portion (222) and the rod (212) is configured to connect the power end (202) and the fluid end (204). The pump also includes a retaining apparatus (216) coupled to the reduced diameter portion (222) of the rod (212). A shoulder (218) is formed between a first inner diameter (226) of the bore (214) and a second inner diameter (228) of the bore (214). The first inner diameter (226) is smaller than an outer diameter of the retaining apparatus (216). A first end (260) of the retaining apparatus (216) is configured to contact the shoulder (218) and a second end (262) of the retaining apparatus (216) is configured to contact a contact surface formed on the rod (212) in order to restrict movement of the rod (212) within the bore (214).

A shape of each of the outer surfaces (223s) and a shape of an inside surface (261) of the cross-bore fluid communication chamber (262) interfacing with the valve stop retainer device (220) substantially conform to a shape of at least a portion of a surface of revolution. The valve stop retainer device (220) is adapted to be retained inside of the cross-bore fluid communication chamber (262) by the shape of the inside surface (261).

摘要: A reciprocating pump comprising a fluid end housing having a number of plunger sections, each of which includes a plunger bore within which a plunger is slidably received, a suction bore within which a suction valve is positioned, a discharge bore within which a discharge valve is positioned, and a cross bore chamber which is located between said bores and is configured as a surface of revolution. Each of the bores intersects the cross-bore chamber to thereby define a respective cross curve which is spatially separated from each adjacent cross curve. In this manner, the cross-bore chamber defines a single, contiguous surface which extends around and between all of said cross curves.
