A micro pump which employs magnetostrictive or electrostrictive elements as solid drive elements and is capable of self-priming even though its flow rate is increased. In the pump, disk-shaped valve elements respectively having tapered protrusions on one side are used as check valves to reduce weight and made to follow the motion of liquids so as to smoothly open and close. Retainers for regulating the gap h between the valve seats and the valve elements are respectively provided with tapered recesses for guiding the protrusions of the valve elements, whereby the valves are prevented from contacting the retainers, thus undergoing less friction therewith, to ensure smooth opening and closure of the valves. Moreover, ringlike or sheetlike elastic materials are provided on the bottoms of the recesses to improve responsivity in the direction in which the valves are closed.

A high-pressure plunger pump includes a pump housing centered on an axis and including a main body having two axially spaced ends, and a pump head secured to one of the ends of the main body. A plunger coaxially extends into the pump housing and a sleeve is floatingly supported on the plunger. The sleeve has two end portions one of which is closer to the pump head than the other, converges toward the pump head and has an axial end face. An insert body is positionally secured in the pump housing at the one end portion of the sleeve and bounds a circumferentially extending annular suction channel with this one end portion. The insert body includes an annular shoulder having a substantially axially facing seating surface. Pressure and suction valves are coaxially arranged within the housing. The suction valve is constructed as a plate valve including an annular suction valve member movable toward and away from its closed position in which its outer and inner regions respectively sealingly contact the annular shoulder of the insert body and the axial end face of the sleeve. A spring urges the suction valve member towards its closed position. The contact surfaces of the inner and outer regions of the suction valve body with the sleeve and with the insert member may be axially offset from one another, and the suction valve member may have a tapered region between such surfaces.

An electromagnetically operated valve which may be used as a fuel injector in a fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine. The valve includes: a discharge means, a sealing means, a fluid conduit, an electrical conductor, an electromagnetic circuit, a travel limiter and a biasing means. The sealing means intermittently opens and closes the discharge means. The electromagnetic circuit includes: a movable armature, a center pole, a combined housing and outer pole, a coil for magnetizing said electromagnetic circuit in response to said electrical signal and a flux path. The armature is a low mass, dual purpose disc which cooperates with the sealing means. The armature is disposed within and in slideable contact with the housing. The travel limiter limits travel of the armature in an upstream direction and defines a single air gap in the flux path between an upstream face of the armature and a downstream end of the first pole when the armature is in an upstream open position. The armature has a travel distance between its upstream open position and its downstream closed position, which is approximately equal to the single gap in the flux path.

The present invention is a wireless electronic control device, primarily intended to be attached to the impulse valve of a Hydraulic Ram Pump (‘HRP’), enabling remote automatic and manual management of the HRP. The Electronic Ram Pump Controller (‘ERPC’) may be used to control the HRP, through the restriction of the fluids entering/or exiting the pump. In the presented form, the Impulse Valve Manager (‘IVM’), attaches to an impulse valve and restricts, to a varying degree, the aperture size of the impulse valve. Through this control mechanism the HRP may be sealed, started, or tuned—either remotely by a user or automatically through the ERPC's automated systems. The presented version can be augmented with valve actuation and sensing of the impulse cycle. The ERPC may be retrofitted or incorporated into the design of a new HRP.

The present invention refers to a system for actuation in an ad mission valve (5) of a gas compressor (1) comprising at least: one set formed by a cylinder (2) and a piston (3); one electric motor (4), operatively associated with said set, capable of providing an axial movement of the piston (3) to compress the gas inside the cylinder (2), the admission valve (5) being configured to allow the input of gas inside the cylinder (2) upon the axial movement of the piston (3) in a first axial direction; and a discharge valve (6) configured to allow the output of gas from inside the cylinder (2) upon the axial movement of the piston (3) in a second axial direction opposite to the first axial direction. The system comprises at least one actuator element (7), operatively associated with the admission valve (5), capable of keeping the admission valve (5) open when the electric motor (4) stops and starts-up. The actuator element (7) is also capable of allowing opening and closing of the admission valve (5) upon the regime of work of the electric motor (4). The present invention also refers to a gas compressor (1) which comprises the above-mentioned system. The present invention also refers to a refrigeration equipment which comprises the above-mentioned gas compressor (1).
