    摘要: This liquid feeding system has the first and second pumps each of which is provided with a plunger. Liquid sucked through each of the pump suction ports is discharged out of the discharging port through the first pump and/or second pump. Under the starting operation mode, the second pump is stopped and only the first pump is operated. When the discharging pressure at the discharging port reaches up to a predetermined value, the starting operation mode is changed over to the normal operation mode. Under the normal operation mode, the first pump is stopped and only the second pump is operated.

    摘要: The present invention is an improved vibratory pumping mechanism that increases the efficiency of utilization of the vibratory motion within a mechanism. More specifically, the mechanism includes a central chamber within which a piston is oscillated to draw fluid into the chamber and expel fluid from within the chamber outwardly through a nozzle connected to the chamber. The chamber includes a pressure tube connected to a rearward end of the chamber and to a secondary chamber positioned around and in fluid communication with the chamber. The pressure tube allows the negative pressure generated by the motion of the piston in either direction to be utilized in preventing any fluid from being directed out of the mechanism in a direction other than through the nozzle, thereby increasing the efficiency of the pump.

    摘要: The invention provides a pump for liquid chromatography excellent in feeding liquid stably at an extremely low flow rate with high accuracy and in discharging bubbles at startup. At startup, a first plunger feeds solvent at a large flow rate to discharge bubbles in a pump and to fill the solvent into the pump in a short time and in a normal operation, the first plunger is stopped and the second plunger is pushed into a second pressure chamber at a low speed to feed the solvent at a low flow rate. When the second plunger reaches full stroke, the second plunger is pulled back at a high speed and at the same time the first plunger is pushed into a first pressure chamber in synchronization with the pullback of the second plunger to control the flow rate passing a discharge passage to a constant value at all times by a controller. Further, while the second plunger feeds the solvent, the first plunger is slightly pushed into the first pressure chamber to keep pressure in the first pressure chamber at pressure equal to or less than pressure in the second pressure chamber.

    摘要: A piston pump having at least one piston drivable by a drive unit and is longitudinally movable in a housing and having a first pressure chamber delimited by the piston element and at least one component affixed to the housing. The first pressure chamber is connectable to a suction region via an inlet valve and is operationally connectable to a delivery side via an outlet valve. A compensation piston unit drivable by the drive unit has a working piston chamber connected to the delivery side. A stroke volume of the first pressure chamber is twice the size of a stroke volume of the working piston chamber. The piston element and at least one component affixed to the housing delimit a second pressure chamber which is connected to the suction region which is operationally connected to the first pressure chamber during a suction stroke of the piston element whose volume varies by half the stroke volume of the first pressure chamber as a function of a movement of the piston element and whose volume expands with a delivery stroke of the piston element that decreases the volume of the first pressure chamber.

    摘要: Pumping requirements for chromatograph applications are for constant flow at high and variable pressures and for accurate programmable control of liquid composition. A two-cylinder pump, pumping system, and associated controls provide an accurate, fixed flow rate. A low pressure gradient former controls composition. During the initial portion of the pumping stroke of a first piston in which fluid is being compressed due to its finite bulk modulus of elasticity its check valve remains closed, a second piston provides all the flow required at a fixed rotational speed. Then, once the first piston has reached its bottom dead center, the control system switches to a constant-pressure control mode, thereby maintaining the flow rate at a fixed value. Constant-pressure control is again switched off either when the second piston's discharge check valve closes, or when the second piston's inlet check valve opens, and pump control returns to fixed rotational speed. Determining the angular displacement at which to effect these control-mode switches is carried out by monitoring the discharge pressure and storing the values of the angular displacement at which the first temporal derivative of pressure changes rapidly. The invention provides novel arrangement for synchronizing the gradient generator by equating recompression volume to recompression volume of the high pressure pump.
