Abstract:
The invention includes a method of bonding a perfluoroelastomer material to first surface that includes: (a) contacting a first surface with a bonding agent comprising a curable perfluoropolymer and a curing agent; (b) curing the bonding agent to form a perfluoroelastomer material that is bonded to the first surface. In the practice of such method, the bonding agent may be a solution prepared by dissolving the curable perfluoroelastomer and the curing agent in a solvent. In an embodiment of the invention, the perfluoroelastomer material formed in step (b) is a coating layer or, alternatively, the first surface is a surface of a perfluoroelastomer member and the perfluoroelastomer material formed is a perfluoroelastomer weld.
Abstract:
A tool for manipulating a fiber optic connector includes a handle portion having a first major axis and first and second ends. An intermediate support arm having a second major axis extends from the first end of the handle portion. First and second jaws extend from the intermediate support arm. Each jaw extends generally perpendicular to the second major axis of its respective intermediate support arm and generally orthogonal to the first major axis. Each jaw includes a gripping portion having a generally concave shape configured to complementarily receive a portion of the fiber optic connector. Movement of the handle portion moves the jaws between an open position in which the jaws are spaced apart for loosely receiving a fiber optic connector, and a closed position in which the jaws securely grip the fiber optic connector.
Abstract:
A self contained sensing apparatus includes a housing establishing an interior compartment, the housing having a maximum thickness which is less than the size of a gate opening of a semiconductor wafer processing chamber for inserting the housing into the semiconductor wafer processing chamber for sensing a parameter. The housing includes a window extending through a principal housing surface. A sensor is provided within the housing and generally aligned with the window for sensing at least one parameter. A transmitter is provided within the housing and coupled with the sensor for receiving signals representative of the sensed parameter and transmitting the signals out of the housing.
Abstract:
A method of laminating a part and a laminated packaging part are described herein. The method includes (a) preparing a laminatable assembly, including (i) providing a first sheet of laminatable material having a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral edge; (ii) contacting the second surface of the first sheet of laminatable material with a first surface of a non-stick layer; (iii) placing a part to be packaged on a second surface of the first non-stick layer opposite the first surface of the non-stick layer such that a first surface of the part contacts the second surface of the non-stick layer; (iv) contacting a second surface of the part opposite the first surface of the part with a first surface of a second non-stick layer; and (v) providing a second sheet of laminatable material having a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral edge, such that the peripheral edge of the first sheet of laminatable material is generally aligned with the peripheral edge of the second sheet of laminatable material to form the laminatable assembly having the first sheet and the second sheet of laminatable material as outer surfaces thereof; and (b) laminating the outer peripheral edges of the first and second sheets of laminatable material to form a laminated package enclosing the part.

A self contained sensing apparatus includes a housing establishing an interior compartment, the housing having a maximum thickness which is less than the size of an access portal for inserting the housing into an area for sensing. The housing includes a window extending through a principal housing surface. A sensor is provided within the housing and generally aligned with the window for sensing at least one parameter. In a preferred embodiment, the sensor is an optical sensor for sensing images through the window. A transmitter is provided within the housing and coupled with the sensor for receiving signals representative of the sensed parameter and transmitting the signals out of the housing.
