Abstract: An electrical feedthrough and a method for producing an electrical feedthrough for contacting a heating conductor of an electrically heatable honeycomb body, comprising an electrically conductive pin, an electrically insulating insulation layer and a bushing in which the insulation layer and the pin are at least partially accommodated. The pin is arranged centrally and at least some portions of it are completely surrounded in the circumferential direction by the insulation layer. The three elements are connected to one another by a form fit and/or a force fit such that they cannot be separated non-destructively.

Abstract: An aerosol-generating device is provided, including: a housing; a cavity arranged to removably receive an aerosol-generating article; an aperture at least partially defined by the housing, wherein the aperture is positioned at an end of the cavity and configured for insertion of an aerosol-generating article into the cavity through the aperture; and a cover element arranged for rotational movement with respect to the housing, the cover element being rotatable between a closed position in which the cover element entirely covers the aperture and an open position in which the aperture is entirely uncovered, the cover element including a cover portion and a shaft portion extending from the cover portion, the cover portion being arranged to entirely cover the aperture when the cover element is in the closed position, and the shaft portion being received within the housing. An aerosol-generating system including the device and an aerosol-generating article is also provided.

Abstract: Provided is a heater in which heater patterns are provided in parallel between terminals. Each terminal is divided into a divided terminal having electrical conduction only with one heater pattern, and a divided terminal having electrical conduction only with the other heater pattern. After a heater body is fabricated, in a state prior to mounting a feed bolt, resistance adjustment is performed with respect to each of a virtual series path formed between the divided terminals and a virtual series path formed between the divided terminals. Then the feed bolt is mounted to each divided terminal, whereby a plurality of virtual series heater patterns are placed in electrical conduction with each other, thus forming a parallel circuit.

Abstract: An electric gas flow heater has a grid-like heating element through which exhaust gas can flow axially, and which forms an electrical resistance heating. The grid-like heating element includes radially successive layers of band-like material, wherein the layers, in an axial view of the heating element, are bent in an undulating manner and include valleys and peaks. The layers that are located between the radially outermost layer and the radially innermost layer are attached by their peaks and valleys to the respectively radially adjacent layer, so that flow-through openings are formed between the layers. The wavelengths of the layers are increasing radially outwards.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a thermal radiation modulation system comprising a first low emissivity layer comprising a plurality of distributed, strain-dependent cracks, the first low emissivity layer comprising a first polymer composite layer and a first mirror-like metal layer with low emissivity covering a surface of the first polymer composite layer; a first elastomer layer bonded to the first low emissivity layer opposite to the mirror-like metal layer; and optionally a first stretchable heater, the first stretchable heater is attached to the first elastomer layer opposite to the first low emissivity layer, wherein a top surface of the first low emissivity layer comprising the mirror-like metal layer has a lower emissivity relative to the first elastomer layer. Methods of making and use of the system are further described.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to electronic cigarettes having vaporizer assembly with “U” shaped air path and methods of using the same. The electronic cigarette includes: mouthpiece assembly, electronic cigarette body, E-liquid storage tank having a negative air pressure cavity and a number of airflow channels forming “U” shaped air path, and the vaporizer assembly. The vaporizer assembly includes: one or more cylindrical E-liquid storage media, and one or more heating elements. The elements are electrically connected to an electrical power supply through negative air pressure activated switch. When a user sucks air from mouthpiece assembly, a negative air pressure is created in the negative air pressure cavity, the negative air pressure activated switch turns on the electrical power supply to the heating elements, and the heating elements vaporize the E-liquid stored in cylindrical E-liquid storage media to generate electronic cigarette vapor for the user through the “U” shaped air path.
