    摘要: A method for rejuvenating a strand-blocked cable having a conductor comprised of a plurality of conductor strands with interstitial volume therebetween blocked by a PIB based mastic, the conductor being surrounded by a polymeric cable insulation. The method comprising installing injection adapters that seal the cable ends of the cable and are usable to inject fluid into the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable; elastically expanding the polymeric cable insulation through the application of pressure to the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable; and injecting at least one injection fluid in which the PIB based mastic is at least partially soluble into the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable. To facilitate elastic deformation of the polymeric cable insulation, the cable may be heated to and maintained at a temperature of T1 above ambient during the injection.

    摘要: A technique facilitates splicing of a power cable including splicing of a protective lead barrier. According to the technique, the power cable comprises conductors which form individual phases of a multi-phase conductor assembly. The conductors may be individually spliced for each phase of the multi-phase conductor assembly. Subsequently, splicing of the protective lead barrier may be performed by utilizing a lead based tape which is wrapped, e.g. helically wrapped, around the conductors. The wrapping technique provides a gas seal with respect to each individual insulated conductor within the multi-phase conductor assembly. Depending on the specifics of a given application and environment, additional layers may be added to ensure formation of a desirable splice.

    摘要: A terminal-equipped electric wire includes: an electric wire in which a conductor is covered by an insulating cover; a crimp terminal including a conductor crimping portion crimped to the conductor exposed from an end of the insulating cover, a cover crimping portion crimped to the insulating cover, and an intermediate portion that couples the conductor crimping portion and the cover crimping portion and in which the conductor is exposed; and a anticorrosive material covering at least the conductor exposed in the intermediate portion. The intermediate portion has grooves that are provided on a surface on the conductor side and formed from both end portions in a circumferential direction such that each of the grooves is formed toward a center side in the circumferential direction.

In some embodiments, the subsea cable is a subsea power cable, umbilical cable or telecommunications cable. In some embodiments, the two dimensional material is configured to be superconducting or near-superconducting.
