Abstract: A tissue retention belt for maintaining tissue in a position that permits access to a body portion of a patient for a medical procedure includes a first anchor zone, a second anchor zone, and a tension zone. The tension zone extends between the first anchor zone and the second anchor zone and defines a tension axis that extends in a direction of loading to be applied to retained tissue. The tension zone may include an auxiliary anchor zone that includes a removable non-adhesive and an adhesive surface configured to adhere to a patient's skin and provide auxiliary anchoring for maintaining tissue in position.

Abstract: A surgical robotics system with robotic arms is configurable to perform a variety of surgical procedures. The surgical robotics system can include a table, column, base, and robotic arms that are either column-mounted, rail-mounted, or mounted on a separate unit. In a column-mounted configuration, the column can include column rings that translate vertically and rotate about the column. The robotic arms are attached to the column rings. In a rail-mounted configuration, the base can include base rails that translate along the base. The robotic arms are attached to the base rails. In both configurations, the robotic arms can move independently from each other and include multiple arm segments. Each arm segment can provide an additional degree of freedom to the robotic arm. Thus, the surgical robotics system may position the robotic arms into numerous configurations to access different parts of a patient's body.

Abstract: A base station assembly for an operating room table is disclosed. In one embodiment, the base station assembly includes a base station that is secured to the operating room table. The base station includes an arcuate rail member. A selectively moveable clamp is attached to the arcuate rail member. A support arm extends from the selectively moveable clamp to provide selective attachment to a surgical accessory, such as a retractor arm, an armrest, or an image guidance reference frame. The base station assembly provides a surgical accessory support that may be moved and adjusted by a surgeon at any time during an operation without contaminating a surgical field and without assistance from circulating operating room personnel.

Abstract: A patient limb positioning apparatus comprises a movement assembly operating on a coupling bracket which can be engaged with the patient's limb, to move the limb according to a plurality of axes of movement. The movement assembly comprises, for at least one of said axes of movement, a drive unit which can be activated to move the coupling bracket according to a predetermined direction of movement. A load transducer detects a load transmitted between the coupling bracket and the drive unit in the respective direction of movement, to emit a signal representative of a detected load value. An electronic control unit is selectively switchable to a load control command mode and is suitable to cyclically compare the measured load value with a pre-set load value, to control activation of the drive when the detected load value differs from the pre-set load value.
