摘要: Catheter device and driving system configured to navigate the catheter through complex narrow tissue openings such as lung bronchi pathway openings of 3 millimeters or less. The device comprises a proximal catheter portion containing a hollow torque shaft, with a distal catheter portion connected to the proximal portion connected to this torque shaft. The distal position of the catheter is controlled by at least one steering cable/tensioning cable arrangement. The system uses processor-controlled actuators that simultaneously rotate the torque shaft and the at least one steering cable/tensioning cable in a 1:1 relationship, while also actuating the steering cable. The catheter is tipped by a tool plate, which can be equipped with various sensors and other instruments and connected to the outside via other conduits.

摘要: A scope adapter system includes an adapter body coupled to a handle of a scope device, a rigid shaft, and a mounting mechanism removably coupled to the shaft. The shaft includes a shaft lumen which is sized and shaped to slidably receive a flexible elongated member of the device. A distal end of the lumen is sized so that, when a distal end of the member is received therein, the distal end of the member is snugly held so that an aim of the shaft aims the distal end of the member. The mechanism mounts a proximal end of the shaft to the body so that, when the body is coupled to the handle, the mechanism is mounted on the body and coupled to the shaft and the member is inserted into the lumen so that movement of the handle effects corresponding movements of the distal end of the member.

摘要: A surgical system comprises a base, an arm assembly operably coupled to the base, and an instrument manipulator assembly coupled to a distal link of the arm assembly. The instrument manipulator assembly comprises an instrument manipulator interface to removably couple with a medical instrument and transfer actuation forces to the medical instrument. The instrument manipulator interface comprises a mounting surface and a plurality of actuator outputs to operably engage with respectively corresponding inputs of the medical instrument. The actuator outputs extend from the mounting surface along directions substantially parallel to a shaft of the medical instrument in a mounted state of the medical instrument to the instrument manipulator interface. In the mounted state of the medical instrument, the instrument manipulator interface and medical instrument are rotatable together about a roll axis of rotation relative to the distal link of the arm assembly.
