    摘要: A method and apparatus altering a region of plasma that lies above the earth's surface at altitudes (e.g. below 50 kilometer) where the collison rate of the electrons in the plasma is originally greater than the cyclotron frequency of the electrons. First, artificial magnetic lines of force are established from the earth's surface by positioning a loop of cable at the earth's surface. An electrical current of sufficient amperage is passed through the cable which inherently generates the artificial magnetic field from the center of the loop. The field strength B on the artificial lines in the region of plasma to be altered is sufficient to increase the cyclotron frequency of the electrons in the plasma so that it will exceed the rate of collosion of the electrons. The plasma is then excited by electron cyclotron resonance heating to thereby further alter the plasma by transmitting circularly polarized electromagnetic radiation upward in a direction substantially parallel to and along the artificial field lines.

    摘要: An electric fence connection system includes a body formed with a slot have a predetermined depth. The slot may be formed to receive a polymer coated cable such that at least a portion of the polymer coated cable is surround by the body. The body may be formed to also include a first threaded aperture that extends through the body to the slot. A first threaded fastener may be sized to threadably engage the first threaded aperture. The first threaded fastener may include a head at a proximate end, a conical tip at a distal end and threads along a shaft of the fastener between the distal and the proximate end. The conical tip of the first threaded fastener may be formed to pierce the polymer coated cable positioned in the slot. The body may be formed with a second aperture formed to receive a power supply cable to supply electrical power to the polymer coated cable via the first threaded fastener.

    摘要: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) launches wire-tethered electrodes to provide a current through a human or animal target to impede locomotion of the target. The current may ionize air in a gap. A gap may occur between terminals at a face of the CEW and/or between the electrodes positioned near target tissue. A CEW may include a detector to detect ionization of air in a gap. A CEW may use information related to detecting ionization to determine a location where the ionization occurred. Information regarding location of ionization may be used to determine whether the current was delivered through the target via the electrodes.
