摘要: A system for identifying the source of a loop in a ring network is provided. During operation, the system receives a first message, which indicates the presence of a looped packet, from a network device of the ring network. The system receives a second message from a respective network device with an uplink to an external network. The second message can include traffic information associated with the uplink. Upon determining based on the first message that a local link intended to be disabled is active, the system determines that a loop is present in the ring network. Upon determining that a plurality of uplinks are active based on the second message, the system determines that a loop is present in the uplinks. If a loop is not present in the ring network or in the uplinks, the system determines that a loop is present in the external network.

摘要: A telecommunications access network comprises a primary aggregation point in the form of an exchange, a plurality of optic fiber to metallic pair interface aggregation points which may be in the form of Distribution Point Units (DPUs) each of which is connected to the primary aggregation point by a respective optical fiber connection, and a plurality of terminating devices which may be in the form of customer premises equipment (CPE) devices, each of which is connected to a respective one of the optic fiber to metallic pair interface aggregation points by a respective twisted metallic pair connection. The access network further includes a plurality of metallic, interface-interface connections between one or more pairs of the optic fiber to metallic pair interface aggregation points. Each metallic, interface-interface connection preferably comprises three or more twisted metallic pairs of wires.

摘要: An example communications device may include communication ports and processing circuitry. The communications device may, when the communication device and peer network nodes are connected in a ring topology to form an access network, detect that a loop exists between the access network and a customer network. In response to detecting the loop, the communication device may automatically block any uplink to the customer network that the communication device may have, and send a message to all of the peer network nodes instructing them to block any uplinks to the customer network they may have.

摘要: In order to be able to maintain cross-traffic between slaves in a ring topology of an Ethernet-based data network even in the event of an error in the ring topology, which leads to the interruption of the ring topology, it is provided that in the event of the occurrence (rectification) of an error (F) in the annular data network (1), the ringmaster is configured to forward data packets or to block at least multicast data packets, and that the master prompts the slaves (S1, S2), communicating with one another via cross-traffic, to transmit configuration data packets (DPMC1, DPMC2) as multicast data packets to each of the other slaves (S1, . . . , Sn) of the annular data network in order to adjust address tables (AT1, AT2) in the slaves (S1, S2), communicating with one another via cross-traffic.

摘要: In a numerical control system in which a numerical controller is connected with a plurality of amplifiers via a daisy-chain serial bus, these amplifiers are grouped into a first group and a second group, and connected in an order of the amplifiers of the first group and the amplifiers of the second group from the numerical controller. Further, a communication cycle in the communication between the numerical controller and the amplifiers of the second group is set n times (n is an integer of 2 or larger) as large as a communication cycle of the first group.

摘要: A system that includes a PCIe hierarchy may utilize a ring controller for message handling. Nodes acting as the root complex or as endpoint devices may include such ring controllers, portions of which may be implemented by dedicated circuitry on each node. The ring controllers may receive posted transactions representing messages, may return flow control credits for those transactions, may classify each message as to its type, and may write information about each message to a respective ring buffer storing information about messages of that type. A processor (or processing logic/circuitry) on the node may subsequently retrieve messages from the ring buffers and process them. The sizes and locations of the ring buffers in memory may be configurable by software (e.g., by writing to registers within the ring controllers). The message types may include correctable and non-correctable error messages, and non-error messages (including, but not limited to, vendor-defined messages).

摘要: Systems and methods for relate to bus ring performance monitoring and control. A bus ring includes an agent and a switch unit to connect the agent to the bus ring. The switch unit includes a transmit queue to store data from the bus ring to be transmitted to the agent and a receive queue to store data from the agent to be transmitted to the bus ring. A first counter is implemented to track a number of pending transactions in the transmit queue and a second counter is implemented to track a number of times the receive queue is full and unable to accept additional data. Frequency of the bus ring is increased or decreased based on comparison of values of the first counter and the second counter with corresponding predefined high and low threshold values.

摘要: Techniques for reducing error in time-of-flight measurement due to transceiver latency are disclosed. A method includes determining a first indicator of a first latency of a first transceiver of a first system using a first loopback configuration of the first transceiver. The method includes receiving a second indicator of a second latency of a second transceiver determined by a second system using a second loopback configuration of the second transceiver. The method includes determining a third indicator of a roundtrip latency of a communication from the first transceiver to the second transceiver and back to the first transceiver. The method includes determining a time-of-flight between the first system and the second system based on the first indicator, the second indicator, and the third indicator.

摘要: A method for transmitting frames containing data between users of a ring-shaped communication system which has a master and at least one slave as users. Each user has at least one interrupt register, and one field of the at least one interrupt register is associated with an interrupt request and includes a value for an interrupt bit. An interrupt request which includes the interrupt bit is transmitted to the master by a slave in a frame designed as an empty frame. In addition, the empty frame has a toggle bit for all slaves which indicates the state of an interrupt request.
