摘要: Ultrahigh band (UHB) architectures for radio frequency (RF) front-ends are disclosed. In certain embodiments, an RF front-end for a mobile device includes a first ultrahigh band transmit/receive module connected to a first antenna, a second ultrahigh band transmit/receive module connected to the first antenna, and a first ultrahigh band receive module connected to a second antenna. The first ultrahigh band transmit/receive module is further connected to the second antenna by way of an auxiliary input of the first ultrahigh band receive module.

摘要: A radio chain arrangement comprising at least two levels of radio chain entities. Each of the levels of radio chain entities is associated with a respective frequency range encompassing at least one radio frequency band each. At least two radio chain entities of a lower level of radio chains are comprised in a radio chain entity of a next higher level. Each radio chain entity of the at least two levels of radio chain entities comprises a respective radio transceiver arrangement that is connected to at least a respective one of a number of antenna multiplexers. For all radio chain entities except a lowest level, the respective radio transceiver arrangement is connected to the antenna multiplexers via a splitter arrangement. An active antenna system comprising such radio chain arrangements and a method for its operation is also disclosed.

摘要: A communication device, including a plurality of transceiver modules; a storage configured to store calibration information; and at least one processor configured to: generate a first dual-polarized RF signal by controlling a first transceiver module to generate a first RF signal based on the calibration information; measure, by a second transceiver module, a first signal power of the first dual-polarized RF signal; adjust a parameter of the first transceiver module, and generate a second dual-polarized RF signal by controlling the first transceiver module to generate a second RF signal based on the adjusted parameter; measure, by the second transceiver module, a second signal power of the second dual-polarized RF signal; and generate an aligned dual-polarized RF signal by controlling the plurality of transceiver modules to generate a plurality of RF signals based on a result of a comparison between the first signal power and the second signal power.

摘要: Wide bandwidth digital pre-distortion (DPD) in a remote unit(s) for a wireless communications system (WCS) is disclosed. In embodiments disclosed herein, a remote unit(s) includes at least two transceiver circuits, each configured to process (e.g., perform DPD) a respective downlink digital communications signal corresponding to a portion of the carrier bandwidth. Each of the transceiver circuits is further configured to convert the respective downlink digital communications signal into a respective downlink RF communications signal. The respective downlink RF communications signals generated by the transceiver circuits are subsequently combined to form a downlink RF communications signal(s) associated with the carrier bandwidth. By employing multiple transceiver circuits in the remote unit(s) to each handle a portion of the carrier bandwidth, it may be possible to mitigate processing bandwidth limitations of the remote unit(s), thus making it possible to satisfy the regulatory and/or operational requirements for supporting wide bandwidth communications in the WCS.

摘要: Methods and systems for automated testing of extremely-high frequency devices are disclosed. A device under test (DUT) is set in a simultaneous transmit and receive mode. The DUT receives a lower frequency radio frequency (RF) signal from a test unit and up-converts the lower frequency RF signal to a higher frequency RF signal. The DUT transmits the higher frequency RF signal using a first antenna, and receives the higher frequency RF signal using a second antenna. The DUT down-converts the received higher frequency RF signal to a received test RF signal and provides the received test RF signal to the test unit for comparing measurements derived from the received test signal to a design specification for the DUT.
