摘要: A method of making an actuator switch is disclosed. One method including: receiving a threshold amount of pressure on a top surface of a flexible film; in response to receiving the threshold amount of pressure, contacting a first electrode with a second electrode; in response to receiving the threshold amount of pressure, generating i) a first capacitive connection between a row electrode and the second electrode and ii) a second capacitive connection between a column electrode and the second electrode; in response to the first electrode contacting the second electrode, generating, by a piezoelectric actuator, haptic feedback; and in response to the generating the first capacitive connection and the second capacitive connection, providing an input detection signal.

摘要: A haptic keyboard of an information handling system comprising a coversheet to identify keys of the haptic keyboard, a contact foil and a piezoelectric element to receive an applied mechanical stress at a first key of the coversheet and generate an electric actuation signal. A processor executing instructions of a haptic smart typing assistance system to detect and anticipate a next letter of a word being typed and a controller to receive an instruction of the anticipated next letter and increasing force required actuate at least one key for a letter adjacent to the anticipated next letter, and to send a response haptic feedback control signal to the piezoelectric element to cause the piezoelectric element to generate a first haptic feedback at the first key if the anticipated next letter is selected and to generate a second haptic feedback if a typographical error is detected.

摘要: A keyboard device includes a base plate with a base plate with a connecting bracket, a wing-type connecting element and a keycap. A first connecting shaft of the wing-type connecting element is inserted into the connecting bracket, so that the wing-type connecting element is connected with the base plate. While the keycap is depressed, the first connecting shaft is inserted into a first receiving space of the connecting shaft and used as a swinging fulcrum. Since the vertical movement of the wing-type connecting element is restricted by the first receiving space, the swinging range of the wing-type connecting element is reduced. Consequently, the keyboard device of the present invention is capable of improving the depressing stability of the keycap.

摘要: A keypad with both elevated and non-elevated key regions, and key switches disposed beneath both types of key regions. The non-elevated key regions each provide corresponding character output based on an operation algorithm that considers activation of at least one adjacent elevated key region as well as activation of the switch below the non-elevated key region. The keypad includes a keymat that is rigidly held at its perimeter in a stretched condition across a switch substrate. The key switches include metal snap domes that have an elevated central region forming a downwardly facing cavity defined at its edge by a ridge disposed above the switch contacts that electrically engages multiple switch contacts in an annular contact zone.

摘要: An improved acoustic transport member for use in a keyboard having key operated strikers individually actuatable for inducing acoustic energy in the form of sound waves which propagate through the member from selected inducing positions therealong. A first portion of the member is fabricated in the form of a series of tabs to provide discrete impact positions for generating sound waves in response to impact actuation of related strikers. A second portion integrally connected with the first portion links all of the tabs and functions as a sound corridor for receiving and transporting all sound waves generated as a result of the selected striker impacting its related tab. An aperture is provided through the tabs. A peripheral rim of the aperture provides sound reflecting boundaries that define sound passages on the tabs for directing the sound waves in different directions in communicating the sound waves from the tabs into the corridor. As a result of the sound waves passing through the passages, distinct wave separation is accomplished. A top portion of the peripheral rim is located along the base of the corridor for reflecting the traveling waves in a manner substantially preventing the waves from entering into areas of passing tabs, thus confining the propagating sound waves within the corridor portion of the member. By controlling the sound waves through the passages and substantially trapping the propagating sound waves within the corridor, dispersion of the sound waves is effectively minimized.
