    摘要： A key module for portable devices includes a PCB having at least one pair of high resistance film and welding point, a rubber key having a protruded key head, and a set of upper case and bottom case. The rubber key has two conducting carbon arcs opposite to the at least one pair of high resistance film on a concave backside thereof. A top of the head portion has a concave on a middle portion thereof and two protrusions on right and left ends thereof for specific input functions. The upper case has at least one through hole for revealing the concave and the protrusions of the head portion while the rubber key and the PCB are covered by the upper and bottom cases.

    摘要： Embodiments of an electronic apparatus and method for are registering inputs from a user a generating corresponding output provided. The electronic apparatus may comprise a switching system and a monitoring system. The switching system may comprise a base surface, insulating blocks disposed on the base surface, an array of conductive pads, and conductive wires. The array of conductive pads comprises one or more rows and one or more columns of conductive pads that are provided with a first electric potential. The switching system may further comprise conductive wires suspended from the insulating blocks and may be suspended at a physical distance over the rows of conductive pads. The conductive wires are provided with a second electric potential. The inputs are registered when the user contacts the conductive wires with the conductive pads. Thereafter, the monitoring system analyzes the inputs to generate a corresponding output to the user.

    摘要： A staggered keyboard for use with a portable device is provided. The staggered keyboard includes a plurality of keys arranged into a plurality of rows of keys. For each row of keys, the labeling of the keys is arranged in either a linear or an arced relationship depending upon the key layout, but the key centers are staggered from key to key along at least two distinct reference lines or arcs so that adjacent keys can be placed in overlapping and/or contiguous configurations thereby minimizing the size of the keyboard layout. By staggering the key centers while maintaining a familiar layout of the key labels, typing efficiency can be maintained while the overall size of the keyboard is reduced.
