The top cap assembly includes a pole, a sealing element, and a plastic element. The pole is provided with an annular groove recessed in a radial direction. The sealing element is sleeved on the pole and positioned in the annular groove. The sealing element is sandwiched between the housing and a groove wall of the annular groove, and the sealing element is partially positioned outside the housing. The plastic element is sleeved on the sealing element and positioned outside the housing, and the plastic element is partially sandwiched between the housing and the groove wall of the annular groove.

An end cap may be positioned to at least partially fill a volume of space between a cell stack and an enclosure structure (e.g., an enclosure tray) inside the traction battery pack. The end cap may be configured to square a draft angle of a side wall of the enclosure structure in order to impart a compressive load to the cell stack and/or the enclosure structure. A foam structure may be positioned between the end cap and the enclosure structure or within a hollow passageway of the end cap for increasing the structural integrity of the traction battery pack.

摘要： Disclosed are a battery housing and a battery. The battery housing includes a bottom shell and a cover. The cover includes an outer contact layer, an insulating layer, and an inner contact layer. The electrode contact portion of the outer contact layer passes through the insulating layer and the inner contact layer to be electrically connected to one pole of a battery cell. The other electrode of the battery cell can be electrically conducted with the bottom shell. The inner contact layer and the bottom shell are configured to be welded for packaging the battery cell. Since the inner contact layer and the outer contact layer of the cover are pre-insulated, the inner contact layer and the bottom shell need to be welded, and the insulating film is not needed, thereby simplifying the packaging process of the battery and improving the packaging efficiency.

The energy storage cell further includes an annular seal made of an electrically insulating material that surrounds the circular edge of the contact element. The contact element together with the seal closes a terminal circular opening of the tubular housing portion.
