    摘要: In order to minimize the effect of return current flow on a current measuring shunt, the present invention proposes a shunt having a compensation circuit to compensate for the asymmetrical effect of such return currents. Such compensation is provided by two measuring circuits which are to measure the voltage drop across the shunt, and each circuit is located in a median plane of the shunt. The path of each of these measuring circuits is optimized and established in the calibrated configuration of the shunt. These parallel measuring circuits also have their inputs and outputs connected together respectively. Particularly, the present invention relates to shunts having a tubular or rectangular configuration and including such compensation circuits.

The current shunt member includes a first portion (14) having a free end (20), and a second arcuate portion (16) including an arcuate slot (38) defined by a constant radius (45) centered about the free end (20) of the first section, so that when current is passed through the arcuate section (16), the voltage produced by the shunt (10) may be varied by pivoting the voltage-responsive member (12) retained at the free end (20) of the first member and at the arcuate slot (38), and bridging or spanning between this first free end (20) and the arcuate slot (38). Preferably, the current-sensing member (12) includes electrical or electronic circuitry, for providing an output when sensed voltage, proportional to current through the arcuate portion, exceeds a predetermined level.

In a preferred embodiment, the display device includes a light source for projecting a spot of light on a display panel and being mounted at the intersection of two arms which cross at right angles to each other and are movable in orthogonally related directions in response to the movements of first and second balance control units, such as, variable resistors, for varying the volume attenuation of first and second signals relative to the volume attenuation of third and fourth signals, and for varying the volume attentuation of the first and third signals relative to the volume attenuation of the second and fourth signals, respectively, so that the position of the light spot on the panel is determined by the relative volume attenuations of the four signals.

    摘要: An encapsulated rheostat, particularly for data transmitters of filling level indicators in motor vehicle fuel tanks, has its resistive element enveloped in a resilient sheet of plastics material. A conductive inner layer is carried by the plastics sheet, and an adjustable contact pin presses against the sheet to establish localised contact between the conductive inner layer and the resistive element. The value of the electrical resistance of the rheostat is thereby variable by adjustment of the position of the contact pin. Air or other gas, or a liquid, confined within the encapsulating resilient plastics sheet tends to separate the resistive element and the conductive inner layer except at the region of localised contact provided by the adjustable contact pin. The resistive element may be of wire-wound construction, or may be resistive inner layer, possibly of strip form, carried by the plastics sheet.

    摘要: A variable computing resistor is disclosed for representing nonlinear curves in null or bridge circuits. A flexible resistive rod is used or resistor components are placed in end-to-end sequential electrical communication. A first conducting terminal is connected to one end of the flexible resistive rod or to one end of the sequentially connected resistor components and a second conducting terminal is moveably attached to the resistive rod or the sequentially connected resistor components. The second conducting terminal serves as a center tap and is driven by a servo-mechanism to tap the resistive rod or sequentially connected resistor components to match the voltage from an external electrical source. The position of the second conductive terminal is associated with an indicator on a substantially linear scale. The external electrical source may, for example, be the voltage produced by a non-linear thermocouple or a photometer output from light transmitted through a sample solution. By selecting the resistances and orientations of the flexible resistive rod or the resistor components non-linear data can be translated into a readout on the substantially linear scale. Nonlinear phenomena such as thermocouple response curves or sample radiation absorption curves can be translated into a linear readout of temperature or concentration.

Said side resistors are adapted to have their resistance varied by progressively reducing the width of their current conductive layer surface. At least one main resistor having in addition to its side resistor connected to it in parallel a further layer resistance, all resistance layers of the unit i.e. main resistors, side resistors and parallel resistors having the same specific surface resistivity.
