摘要: The present invention provides a new method and system for producing a digital optical recording. The process can be divided into two separate operations: mastering of the optical recording on the surface of an elongated member, such as a cylinder, etc., and fast replication of the master record onto the surface of flexible film which is essentially parallel to the surface of the cylinder, etc.

摘要: In an optical scanner, a light beam from a light source device is incident to a deflecting reflecting face of an optical deflector. The light beam reflected on the deflecting reflecting face is deflected by rotating or swinging the deflecting reflecting face and is incident to a reflective image forming element. The light beam is converged as a light spot onto a scanned face by the reflective image forming element to perform an optical scanning operation. The deflecting reflecting face is substantially parallel to a rotating or swinging axis thereof. The light beam from the light source device is incident to the deflecting reflecting face in a state in which this light beam is inclined with respect to an axial perpendicular face perpendicular to the rotating or swinging axis. An optical axis of the reflective image forming element is inclined with respect to the axial perpendicular face such that this optical axis approaches the incident deflected light beam emitted from the deflecting reflecting face. In this optical scanner, a scanning line curve is effectively reduced.

摘要: An optical recording and reproducing apparatus records the audio and video signals to an optical disk by dividing the audio and video signals for one frame into top and bottom audio and video signal components. The top and bottom audio signal component are recorded to a predetermined track on disk sides A and B referenced to the rotation position detection information preformatted thereon, respectively. A mode set panel produces a mode signal for switching the operating mode. A mode determiner produces the head operation mode signal for determining the operating mode of the optical heads based on the signal. Top and bottom heads record and reproduce audio and video signals to or from the two sides A and B, respectively. Top and bottom vertical synchronization mark generators produce the vertical synchronization marks from the sector of the optical disk preformatted for recording and reproducing audio and video signals. Head actuators drive the pickup. The top head operating mode determiner, to which the operating mode data and the vertical synchronization mark signal are input, determines the operating mode of the top optical head. The bottom head mode determiner, to which the operating mode data and the bottom vertical synchronization mark signal are input, determines the operating mode of the bottom optical head.

摘要: A method for fabricating in a mold a rotatable recording drum. Initially, the mold is rotated and a predetermined quantity of a flowable substance is poured into the mold cavity and is centrifugally flung against the mold wall to form a mold layer with a smooth inner surface. Next, a surface substance is poured into the mold cavity and is allowed to harden against the mold layer. A core outer layer substance is then poured into the mold cavity and allowed to harden against the surface substance, and rotation of the mold is stopped. The mold layer fluid is removed, and the cavity inside the outer layer is filled with a core inner layer substance which is allowed to harden before the drum core is removed from the mold cavity. Following removal of the core from the mold cavity, the hardened surface substance may be vacuum coated, and a protective overcoat applied to the core. The drum core and the surface substance can also be formed separately.

摘要: A data card recording system having a rotatable drum for supporting a plurality of data cards on its circumferential surface. A light source emits a beam which is modulated in response to data and directed to the cards on the rotating drum. The beam produces data spots in a plurality of parallel tracks aligned in the direction of drum rotation on a recording strip whose length is parallel to the drum axis. The focusing optics may be moved transversely to record in adjacent tracks. A data segment accessed from a data source and stored in a register of a microprocessor is recorded on a track on each card on the drum. A data control, controlling modulation rate, and a position detector unit are provided to synchronize the light beam modulation with the drum rotation rate. Drums and optical system embodiments are described for both reflectively and transmissively read data cards.

摘要: A signal processor and method for frequency compensating the drive signal for an optical modulator in an optical recording apparatus to make the exposure level modulation amplitude on the medium independent of the spatial frequency of the information being recorded. The processor compensates for exposure level modulation roll off at high spatial frequencies due to the finite size of the recording spot by increasing the amplitude of the modulator drive signal at high frequencies. The compensation is preferably the inverse of the modulation transfer function of the recording objective lens.

摘要: Image information stored on a recording medium is read out by photoelectrically converting light obtained by two-dimensional scanning of the image information, and integrating the electric signal by use of a plurality of integrators which are sequentially actuated each time a first clock pulse determining the picture element size is input. Integration periods are set not shorter than one clock length of the first clock pulse so that they partially overlap each other. The integration output is sampled by a second clock pulse at a point of time within the overlap region of the integration periods but outside regions where the next integrator is in the integration start transient and where the currently operating integrator is reset. The integrator reset period is set to sufficiently reset each integrator and prepare for the next integration.
