Abstract:
The present invention is a confined space conditioning system, which is used to provide conditioning to localized zones of an enclosure. The confined space conditioning system consists of a conditioning unit and an enveloped space, enveloping the localized zone, connected to the conditioning unit. The conditioning unit uses a low wattage compressor and a heater element to generate cool, dehumidified air or warm conditioned air to the enveloped space, as is required by a user of the system. The used conditioned air is extracted from the enveloped space and is recirculated to the conditioning unit for reconditioning. The surfaces of the enveloped space are thermally insulated using thermally insulating media in order to minimize the cross flow of heat.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an infrared sensor assembly and a refrigerator having the infrared sensor, in which a location where a heat source is generated is precisely detected by narrowing a receiving angle of an infrared sensor. To this end, the infrared sensor assembly comprises: an infrared sensor fixed to a supporting frame for receiving infrared rays generated at a heat source; a case having the infrared sensor mounted therein and an infrared filter mounted at an upper surface thereof, the infrared filter transmits only the infrared rays; and a receiving range limiting means prolonged from an outer circumference surface of the case with a predetermined height for limiting a range of the infrared rays received into the infrared sensor so as to precisely detect a location of the heat source.
Abstract:
An air conditioning system using a refrigerant to control a temperature of a climate-controlled area. The air conditioning system comprises a refrigerant circuit and a compressor coupled to the refrigerant circuit. The compressor includes a compression mechanism comprising a swash plate and at least one piston engaging the swash plate for compressing the refrigerant. An electric motor has a drive shaft that supports the swash plate at an inclination angle. The swash plate is adjustable between a plurality of inclination angles or stroke positions to adjust a current pressure in a low-side pressure portion of the refrigerant circuit. An electronic control valve adjusts the compression mechanism between the plurality of stroke positions to adjust the current pressure. A controller is programmed to control the electronic control valve until the current pressure is within a predetermined limit of a target pressure. A pressure sensor is coupled to the refrigerant circuit to measure the current pressure in the refrigerant circuit.
Abstract:
A method for operating a transcritical refrigeration system wherein a more optimal compressor parameter such as output pressure, pressure ratio or power consumption is determined using heat exchanger refrigerant inflow temperatures and/or outflow temperatures and also the enthalpy change across the evaporator and adjusting the compressor operation or refrigerant fluid working mass accordingly.
Abstract:
A method of freezing a food product comprises the step of forming an indentation on the frozen food product. Such indentation is capable of being irreversibly altered after the frozen food product is thawed so that it is an indication that the frozen food product has been thawed during storage.

A refrigerator and a method for operating the same. The refrigerator comprises a single media controller installed on a single board together with a refrigerator microcomputer, which controls the entire operation of the refrigerator, for not only displaying information regarding internal environments of the refrigerator on a display unit installed on the outer surface of the refrigerator, but also connecting the refrigerator to an external network, such as the Internet, to enable a user to access the Internet through the refrigerator. Therefore, the refrigerator can be reduced in its assembling time and manufacturing cost and be increased in its assembling efficiency.
Abstract:
A control server includes a device information database storing device characteristic data constituting the air conditioning equipment, a fuel/power rate database storing price and rate data regarding gas, oil, power and the like, a device characteristic and price database, an air conditioning equipment simulator for calculating running costs by using the data stored in the fuel/power rate database, and communication portion for performing communications through a network. The control server, and an air conditioning management controller for managing and controlling the air conditioning equipment provided with the communication portion for performing communications through the network, are connected to the network. An operation plan is made by the control server, the operation plan is transmitted to the air conditioning equipment management controller for controlling the air conditioning equipment through the network, and the air conditioning equipment is controlled and operated according to the operation plan.
Abstract:
An energy-efficient vehicle air conditioning system includes a variable capacity refrigerant compressor having a capacity control valve with integral refrigerant sensors and control circuitry, and a driver interface panel for selecting the discharge air temperature and inlet air source, and for selecting either a normal control mode or an energy-efficient control mode. When the energy-efficient control mode is selected, control setting indicators prompt the driver to request full-cold discharge air temperature and recirculated cabin air, and the control circuitry initiates a compressor capacity control based on the refrigerant sensor information and a measure of the outside air temperature to produce a suitable discharge air temperature at a reduced power consumption level.
Abstract:
A low temperature storage cabinet wherein a heater is embedded in an opening frame structure of the cabinet to prevent the occurrence of dewfall on a surface of the frame structure to be brought into contact with a door hinged to the cabinet body, and wherein operation of a compressor is controlled in accordance with an inside temperature of the cabinet to maintain the inside temperature of the cabinet at a predetermined value. In the storage cabinet, the heater is activated synchronously in response to operation of the compressor and is activated in accordance with outside humidity or inside temperature of the cabinet during stopping of the compressor.
Abstract:
An air conditioner capable of improving its assembling efficiency and reducing material costs. The air conditioner reduces the effects of the fluctuation in commercial line voltage (12) on the supply voltage to a compressor (11), while reducing the vibrations of its outdoor unit (2). The outdoor unit (2) is provided with a voltage correction circuit (14) that maintains the output voltage to the compressor (11) constant (optimal) regardless of the changes in voltage on commercial power supply line (12).
