摘要: A pressure relief valve includes a lever plate, a first spring, a fitting, and a guide assembly. The fitting has a first side, a second side, and a flange having a rounded end and includes a surface with which a first end of the first spring contacts. The guide assembly has two sides, two concavities, and at least a portion of the guide assembly extends through the opening of the lever plate, the first concavity is formed on the first side of the guide assembly and contacts the fitting flange rounded end, and the second concavity is aligned coaxially with the first concavity. A rounded end of a rod of the diaphragm assembly contacts the second concavity. The second spring is adapted to supply a second force against the diaphragm assembly to move the lever plate in a second direction that is substantially opposite the first direction.

摘要: A valve head of the pressure relief valve is urged into the closed (seated) position by a spring, assisted by a force derived from pressurized fluid which is situated in a chamber behind the valve head and which is admitted thereto from the upstream side of the valve seat through a chamber in the valve head. The chamber in the valve head is open toward the inlet port of the valve and is partly defined and surrounded by a skirt-like extension oriented transversely to the axis of the valve inlet port. The diameter of the chamber whose opening has a plane generally perpendicular to the direction of valve head motion, is at least as large as the diameter of the valve intake port. In the seated (closed) state the skirt-like extension reaches transversely into the inlet port at least as far as the axis of the inlet port and in the maximum open position the skirt-like extension is at the most just clear of the inlet port.

摘要: The invention relates to a hydraulic regulator of a type which may be operated by electromagnetic switching valves. The assembly includes a piston and cylinder arrangement with position setting chambers at opposite ends thereof of larger diameter than the servo piston. Movable abutment elements in the chambers of larger diameter than the servo piston are biased by centering springs. There are parallel circuit branches in which the end chambers are disposed and switching valves are in these branches. The actuating of one of the valves to block its branch raises the pressure in the end chamber in that branch causing the piston to move in the other direction so as to move away from the biasing force of one spring biased element and engage the biasing force of the other spring biased element. When the other switching valve is actuated to block its branch to stop the piston in a desired position, the fluid pressure in the end chambers is equal. The sring bias acting through one of the abutment elements creates unequal biasing forces on the servo piston in the direction from which it started.

摘要: A pressure regulator for divers' breathing apparatus having a diaphragm case and a diaphragm disposed therein. As a function of the pressure which exists in a space delimited by the diaphragm and which is varied by the diver's breathing, the diaphragm controls, via a control member, a valve having a fixed portion and a movable portion. A pressure chamber is provided in which a reduction in pressure is produced through a channel opening out into the flow of gaseous mixture into the valve at right angles to the direction of that flow. The opening of the valve is assisted and accelerated by this reduction in pressure in order to facilitate the diver's breathing.

摘要: A pilot valve controlled fluid pressure actuated flow control valve is disclosed which includes a plunger in the flow passageway through the main valve. One end of the plunger defines a piston which is disposed in a piston chamber, and the other end of the plunger defines a valve element displacable into and out of engagement with a valve seat in the passageway. A pilot valve controls the flow of upstream fluid into and from the piston chamber to respectively close and open the main valve passageway. The pilot valve includes a pair of valve elements reciprocable together between first and second positions. In the first position, one of the valve elements closes the passage for delivery of upstream fluid to the piston chamber and the other valve opens a passageway to release upstream fluid from the piston chamber. In the second position, the one valve element opens the passageway for directing upstream fluid to the piston chamber and the other closes the passageway for release of upstream fluid from the piston chamber. Each of the pilot valve elements is biased in its closed position by the pressure of upstream fluid acting thereagainst.

摘要: A valve, plug and pressure responsive diaphragm combination for use in a flushing device of the type which includes a closed container for receiving and retaining a quantity of pressurized water. The plug is capable of being seated within the outlet of the tank and has an aperture therein into which the valve is slidably received. The valve is attached to a stem which is constantly urged upwardly by the action of a spring. The valve is pushed downward from a seated position in the plug against the action of the spring when the tank is flushed. This downward movement of the valve opens the aperture in the plug in which the valve was seated which decreases the pressure within the cylinder above the plug and causes the plug to move upwardly from its seated position in the tank outlet thus opening the outlet for the passage of water from the tank during the flushing cycle. As the tank empties, the plug drops. To reseal the bowl after the tank has been flushed, the spring action of the valve tends to prevent the plug from seating thus allowing some liquid to flow through the outlet as the tank is being filled. After the tank has been flushed and while the bowl is being resealed, the plug responds to pressure created by liquid coming into the tank by moving slowly in opposition to the force of the spring and valve until the plug is seated and the tank is resealed.

摘要: A vent valve to provide a local vent from the brake pipe of an automatic air brake system in response to an emergency rate of reduction of brake pipe pressure. The valve is of the poppet type and the valve head is carried by a pivoted actuating lever. The valve head is pivotally connected to the lever and has a pivot axis parallel with the pivot axis of the actuating lever and which is offset from the centerline of the valve seat toward the lever pivot. This location of the valve head pivot affords quick valve opening and good mechanical advantage. The vent valve is spring-biased closed and is opened by a motor which is rendered effective only by a rapid reduction of brake pipe pressure such as is characteristic of an emergency brake application.
