    摘要: A hydrostatic transmission includes a pump running surface and a motor running surface connected by internal porting formed in a housing member. A valve is disposed in the housing and connects a sump formed by the housing and the internal porting. A trunnion includes a first arm engaged to a swash plate to rotate the swash plate to vary the output of the pump, and a second arm which rotates with the first arm, the second arm having an operative end that is capable of opening the valve to permit a hydraulic connection between the internal porting and the sump through the valve bore when the trunnion is rotated to a predetermined position.

    摘要: A variator is provided having a first shaft rotatable around a first longitudinal axis associated with the first shaft and a second shaft rotatable around a second longitudinal axis associated with the second shaft. The variator also has a pump driven by the first shaft. The pump includes a first plurality of drum sleeves attached to a first drum plate tilted at a first angle relative to the first longitudinal axis. The drum sleeves are positioned to slidingly receive a first plurality of piston members. Each piston member is configured to form a seal substantially perpendicular to an axis of an associated drum sleeve. The seal substantially prevents fluid from leaking out of a chamber formed by the piston member end the drum sleeve. The variator further includes a motor fluidly coupled to the pump and configured to drive the second shaft.

    摘要: A device for transmitting power between mechanical movements which includes a fluid pump coupled to a first mechanical movement for pumping a fluid, a fluid motor coupled to a second mechanical movement and a manifold connecting the fluid pump and the fluid motor capable of conducting fluid output from the fluid pump to the fluid motor to drive the fluid motor and recirculate the fluid back to said fluid pump. Either the fluid pump and/or the fluid motor incorporates a conjugate drive motion translator. The power transmission is suitable for use on a bicycle replacing the typical gears and chain and preferably includes a shunt to permit the motor to override the pump, an apportionment valve to control the ratio of movement between a first and second mechanical movement, and a brake valve for stopping the second mechanical movement. Either the fluid pump and/or fluid motor may be of a variable output design incorporating a crankshaft of variable stroke, adjustable on-the-fly.

    摘要: A hydraulic machine having a continuously variable displacement includes a vane rotor having a plurality of radial vanes thereon and a connection for a torque transmitting shaft driven by a prime mover such as an engine or an electric motor. A cam ring is supported in a position surrounding the vane rotor and has an interior surface facing the vane rotor. The interior surface and the vane rotor define between them a working volume swept by the vanes. The cam ring has flexible portions therearound capable of flexing radially when inwardly directed radial forces are exerted thereon to change the shape of the swept volume within the cam ring. A control mechanism in the housing has an adjustable force generating device bearing against a force exerting member engaged with the cam ring for exerting a squeezing force on the ring to distort the cross-sectional shape of the cam ring and the swept volume within the cam ring. The adjustable force generating device includes a rod having a wedge-shaped notch therein, and the force exerting member includes a toggle having one end fitted into the notch and an opposite end engaged in a wedge shaped notch in an abutment on the cam ring. The cross-sectional shape of the cam ring swept by the vanes may be continuously adjusted by the control mechanism thereby continuously adjusting the displacement of the vane rotor per revolution thereof.
