    Abstract: Disclosed is a cardan shaft sliding assembly suitable for both a gearbox-differential arrangement, which provides the cardan shaft freedom of motion in the axial direction, and for an undercarriage arrangement between two axles. The cardan shaft sliding assembly has multiple mounting diameters of different dimensions positioned on a yoke shaft in order to provide housing and assembly of the protective cover in both the gearbox-differential arrangement and the undercarriage arrangement between two axles. The yoke shaft with the mounting diameters provides the cardan shaft with freedom of motion in the axial direction and is one of the parts forming the sliding assembly.

The universal joint includes a body portion formed at one end of a yoke for a shaft to be coupled thereto, a wing portion formed at the other end of the yoke for a bearing to be pressed thereinto, and a rigidity-weakening portion formed in a shape of a reduced cross-sectional area in a portion extending from the body portion to the wing portion.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite structure includes providing a mandrel comprising a base part and at least one conical part. The base part comprises an elongate shaft. The base part of the mandrel comprises a cylindrical surface around a longitudinal axis of the base part. The at least one conical part extends from the cylindrical surface of the base part. The mandrel and a braiding machine are moved relative to one another such that fibre tows are braided over at least the base part of the mandrel. The mandrel and the braiding machine are arranged such that during the braiding process, none of the fibre tows intersect with a vertex of the at least one conical part of the mandrel.

    Abstract: An assembly apparatus includes backup jigs, a press-fitting and caulking part, and an expansion part. The backup jigs is configured to back up arms of a yoke of the cross shaft universal joint from inside in an axial direction. The press-fitting and caulking part is configured to press-fit cup bearings from outside in the axial direction between bearing holes of the arms and a shaft portion of a cross shaft, and configured to caulk the cup bearings. The expansion part is configured to push a wedge body between the backup jigs and to expand the arms outward via the backup jigs. The press-fitting and caulking part is configured to press-fit the cup bearings and to caulk the cup bearings in a state in which the arms are expanded. The expansion part is configured to release an expansion of the arms after the press-fitting and caulking of the cup bearings.

    Abstract: A cardan shaft for a tool connected to a motor and provided with a system for checking conditions of use thereof. The cardan shaft has a rotatable shaft, with one or two end cardan joints. One or more sensor members are mounted on the cardan shaft to transmit signals to a data acquisition and data-processing electronic control unit (ECU) mounted on a fixed protection of the cardan shaft. The sensor members measure data such as torque transmitted by the cardan shaft, rotation speed of the rotatable shaft, vibrations of the cardan shaft, temperature of the cardan joint and articulation angle. A system for checking conditions of use of the cardan shaft has a remote node connected to the ECU and mounted on the fixed protection. The remote node acquires, stores and processes data sent to the ECU by the sensor members.

    Abstract: A steering column assembly includes a first shaft, a second shaft, and a clip. The first shaft has a first yoke disposed at an end thereof. The second shaft has a second yoke disposed at an end thereof. The second yoke is connected to the first yoke such that rotation of the first shaft is configured to rotate the second shaft and such that the second shaft is rotatable relative to the first shaft. The clip is removably connected to one of the first shaft and the second shaft. The clip limits rotation of the second shaft relative to the first shaft prior to installation of the steering column assembly in a vehicle.

    Abstract: A universal joint may include a joint cross having two pairs of journals arranged at right angles to one another and two joint yokes that each have opposing arms. Each journal may be rotatably mounted in the opposing arms about a journal axis in a journal bearing that has a pot-shaped outer bushing that is fixed in the respective arms and that has an outer pot base disposed opposite an end side of the journal. A convexly projecting contact region may contact the outer pot base. Further, an inner bushing may be fixed on the journal, and rolling bodies may be disposed between the inner bushing and the pot-shaped outer bushing. The convexly projecting contact region may project axially on the end side relative to a surface of the inner bushing that acts as a raceway for the rollable rolling bodies.
