Abstract:
The invention relates to a cardan mounting for an air vent, comprising a fixed part and a moving part, which are each pivotably attached to a cardan ring, wherein the two pivoting axes are arranged at right angles to one another. The cardan ring is elastically deformable, circular-ring-shaped in the uninstalled state and extended along one pivoting axis and compressed along the other pivoting axis, as compared with the circular shape, in the installed state. The invention furthermore relates to an air vent having a cardan mounting of this kind.
Abstract:
A propeller shaft has a first yoke having a fixing portion, a pair of first bifurcated yoke portions extending from one end portion of the fixing portion in an axial direction, and a first bearing hole formed at each first yoke portion and securing therein a first bearing that holds a cruciform shaft; a second yoke coupled to the first yoke through the cruciform shaft and secured to a predetermined member, and having a mounting flange, and a bolt insertion hole which is formed at the mounting flange and into which a bolt to secure the second yoke to the predetermined member is inserted; and a securing member securing the mounting flange of the second yoke to the predetermined member through the bolt by a fastening tool. Each first yoke portion is provided with a first concave portion that slides thereon an outer circumferential surface of the fastening tool.
Abstract:
A universal joint of the present disclosure includes a first joint yoke and a second joint yoke. A first joint axis is formed at a first angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of a first shaft connected to the first joint yoke and a second joint axis is formed at a second angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of a second shaft connected to the second joint yoke. At least one of the first and second angles of the first and second joint yokes may be an obtuse angle or an acute angle. A connection element is configured to couple the first joint yoke to the second joint yoke via the first and second joint axes.
Abstract:
A journal cross of a universal joint includes a base body from which four journals extend outwardly, each journal of the four journals having a cylindrical section and an outer diameter and a length in an axial direction of the journal. The four journals are formed as tubular structures, an inner diameter of each of the tubular structures is at least 67% of the outer diameter of each of the tubular structures, the journal cross is formed as a one-piece component from which the four journals as well as the transitions between the four journals are also formed, and the four journals merge in a common cavity which is formed in an interior of the journal cross.
Abstract:
Instead of receiving universal joint crosses (1) like in the prior art in a special chuck of a turning machine and machining one respective pinion (2) and subsequently cycling the work piece by 90°, a contact surface (18) with a clamping device (19) is provided in the operating area according to the invention, wherein the raw part can be placed on the clamping device and can be clamped so that two opposite faces can be machined in this first clamping step including machining centering boreholes, wherein clamping is performed thereafter between centering points (22) at the centering boreholes for machining the adjacent enveloping surfaces. After a cycling by 90° on this contact surface (18) the same steps are performed for the second pair of pinions, wherein machining the aligned pinions (2) can even he performed simultaneously if the machinery is configured accordingly.
Abstract:
A universal joint may comprise a first joint member terminating in either a first pair of cones or a first pair of cone slices, wherein apical ends of said first pair of cones or first pair of cone slices form first and second sockets, the first and second sockets facing each other; a second joint member terminating in either a second pair of cones or a second pair of cone slices, wherein apical ends of said second pair of cones or second pair of cone slices form third and fourth sockets, the third and further sockets facing each other; a coupler fitted into the first, second, third and fourth sockets, wherein torque is transmitted directly between the first joint member and the second joint member via side walls of the two pairs of cones or cone slices.
Abstract:
In one aspect of the invention, an intermediate shaft for a steering column assembly of a vehicle is provided. The intermediate shaft includes a shaft element, a universal joint coupling including an inner yoke coupled to the shaft element and an outer yoke coupled to the inner yoke, and at least one of a bearing and a lock sleeve coupled to the outer yoke.
Abstract:
A universal joint having a hub formed by molding a material around four stub axles which are arranged so that a first and second stub axle are axially aligned and a third and fourth stub axle are axially aligned. Furthermore, the axes of the first and second stub axles are perpendicular to and coplanar with the axes of the third and fourth stub axles. A bearing is positioned around each stub axle. A first yoke is then molded around two aligned stub axle bearings and an end of a first axle while, similarly, a second axle is molded around the bearings on the other pair of stub axles and an end of a second axle.
Abstract:
A method for servicing a coupling connecting two non-collinear shafts, which coupling includes a pair of sleeves each having a yoke provided at an end portion thereof, a knuckle provided between each yoke that includes a body having a plurality of openings, a plurality of bushings each positioned in one of the openings, and a plurality of separate pins threadingly engaged to the yokes for releasably connecting the yokes to the knuckle. The method includes loosening a pair of opposed pins on one of the yokes such that an end portion of each pin is spaced from the corresponding bushing, which disengages that yoke from the knuckle, separating the disengaged yoke from the coupling, removing a worn bushing, inserting a different bushing in the opening, positioning the yoke to reengage the knuckle and tightening the pins on the yoke until the end portion of each pin engages the corresponding bushing.
Abstract:
A 3DOF universal joint includes a first connecting base, a second connecting base, a two-way hinged member, and a third connecting base. The first connecting base and the second connecting base are rotatably mounted together via the two-way hinged member along a first axis and a second axis substantially perpendicular to the first axis. The third connecting base is rotatably assembled to the second connecting base along a third axis substantially perpendicular to the first and second axes.
