摘要: A carburetor, for use in association with a liquid fuel, comprising a barrel means having bore-defining wall means, defining a bore therethrough, a central carburetor axis, an upstream end and a downstream end, an annular ridge forming a constriction in the barrel means, a dissipator body member of generally elongated globular pear-like shape having a maximum cross-section transverse to the barrel means complementary to and downstream of the constriction, the body member being mounted coaxially with the carburetor axis, fuel dissipating passageways through the body member for delivering fuel to the outer surface thereof downstream of the ridge, the ridge and the dissipator body member being movable relative to each other, to establish an annular air passage between the body member, and the downstream side of the ridge, and, fuel line means connecting the fuel dissipating passageways for receiving liquid fuel.

摘要: A device for carburetting air and fuel includes, a housing having its wall confining a main air passage of converging-diverging shape, an annular chamber around the diverging portion of the passage, a plurality of tubes for sucking the fuel from the annular chamber and spraying it at the throat portion of the passage. The walls of the tubes are respectively provided with a plurality of openings which are communicated with pilot air inlet passages branching off the main air passage. The on and off positions of the openings are controlled by an automatic pressure sensitive system so as to adjust the fuel-to-air ratio of the fuel feed. A throttle valve is provided at the throat portion for controlling the rate of the fuel-air mixture flow.

摘要: A variable venturi carburetor comprises an auxiliary intake air passage, an auxiliary variable venturi and a non-adjustable nozzle portion, in addition to a main intake air passage, a main variable venturi and an adjustable nozzle portion. If the amount of intake air is small as when the engine is being idled, intake air is passed mainly through the auxiliary variable venturi to generate vacuum sufficiently high to jet fuel into the auxiliary intake passage through the non-adjustable nozzle portion. If the amount of intake air is great as when the engine is running under a heavy load, intake air is passed mainly through the main variable venturi. Since two venturis are formed, it is possible to smoothly increase the amount of fuel to be jetted into the intake passage over a wide engine operating condition.

摘要: A carburetor for combustion engines with a mixing chamber in the carburetor housing, the mixing chamber being bounded downstream by a randomly actuated mixture throttle and upstream by an air throttle controlling the intake air cross section and actuated by the pressure prevailing in the mixing chamber. A bypass air duct discharges into the center of the mixing chamber and receives the fuel supply. A nozzle pin cooperates with the air throttle and controls the cross section of a fuel jet. Downstream of this jet is another fuel jet whose cross section is controllable as a function of engine operating parameters by means of an analog magnet. The fuel jet controlled by the analog magnet may be the fuel outlet in the bypass air duct, and may be controlled by a nozzle pin through a lever via the analog magnet which is a plunger system. The second fuel jet may be located in a bypass air duct and its cross section may also be controlled by an analog magnet as a function of engine operating parameters. The analog magnet may be excited via a regulator with a sinusoidal modulated direct current.

摘要: A fuel injection system for continuous injection of fuel into the induction tube of an internal combustion engine. The induction tube includes adjacent convergent and divergent regions. A throttling element, composed of two conical parts with adjoining bases forms a narrow, annular aperture in cooperation with the diverging region of the induction tube. The throttling element can slide along its axis and its position determines the setting of a control slide within a fuel metering valve assembly which relates the metered out fuel quantity to the air flow through the narrow annular aperture. A bellows mechanism and a lever limit the axial excursion of the throttle element so as to maintain a minimum vacuum in the induction tube. The system also includes a gas-pedal linked cam plate which sets the location of the fulcrum for the limiting lever.

摘要: A combustible mixture of air and minute fuel droplets is produced for supply to the cylinders of an internal combustion engine. This mixture is formed by accurately controlling both the atomization of fuel and the mass flow rate of air over substantially the entire operating range of the engine. These controls are accomplished by introducing liquid fuel into a stream of intake air and uniformly distributing the fuel in the air followed by passing the air and fuel mixture through a constricted zone to increase the velocity of the mixture to sonic. The sonic velocity air at the constricted zone divides the fuel into minute droplets that are uniformly entrained throughout the air stream. The area of the constricted zone and the quantity of fuel introduced are adjustably varied in correlation with operating demands imposed upon the engine. Downstream from the constricted sonic zone, the air and fuel mixture is accelerated to supersonic velocity in a supersonic zone without imparting substantial turbulent flow thereto. Thereafter the mixture is decelerated to subsonic velocity in a subsonic zone to produce a shock zone where the fuel droplets entrained in the air are believed to be further subdivided and uniformly distributed throughout the combustible mixture before the mixture is supplied to the engine cylinders.

摘要: An improved carburetor for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. A mixing chamber with means for creating air turbulence and improved homogenization of the air-fuel mixture is provided. The disclosed carburetor comprises a lower portion having an opening adapted to be connected to the suction side or inlet of the engine, a partially closed compartment provided with a cover, a valve regulating the air passage through this opening and thus transmission into the compartment of the reduced pressure produced by the suction effect of the engine, and a set of pipings forming an arrangement of fuel lines adapted to be connected to a fuel supply and having fuel distribution means arranged for adding, in an appropriate manner, the homogeneous air-fuel mixture necessary for each running speed of the engine. Improved combustion and lower level of noxious emission gases are effected.
