Abstract: A method is described for minimizing material mixing of a first fluid material and a second fluid material in a material processing system that includes a pipeline. The method includes introducing into an upstream portion of the pipeline a sufficient amount of a material mixing inhibitor using, in some instances a cartridge for delivery of the material mixing inhibitor composition to the material processing system.

Abstract: A fluid manifold includes an inlet comprising an opening into an interior of the fluid manifold, an outlet end that is positioned opposite the inlet and that is in fluid communication with the inlet, a shroud extending between the inlet and the outlet end and surrounding a flow path of the fluid manifold, and a first flow distributor positioned within the interior of the fluid manifold. The first flow distributor includes a hollow body including a first surface at a downstream side of the first flow distributor and a second surface at an upstream side of the first flow distributor, a central cavity defined by the second surface of the hollow body, and openings extending from the first surface to the second surface such that a fluid can pass from the central cavity through the openings. The first flow distributor and the fluid manifold are integrally formed.

The channel is enclosed by an electrically conductive inner envelope that is connected to a first potential equalization conductor. An electrically conductive outer envelope is provided between the channel and an electrically conductive outer casing and is connected to an electrically conductive second potential equalization conductor. Arranged between the channel and the outer envelope is an electrically insulating intermediate layer which is produced from heat-insulating material.

Abstract: Fluid systems and methods for addressing fluid separation are described. An example fluid system includes a main body and a fluid pressurizer. The main body has a first portion, a second portion, an injection opening, a suction opening, a channel that extends from the suction opening to the injection opening, and a side wall. The first portion has a first axis that extends along the side wall. The second portion has a second axis that extends along the side wall at an angle relative to the first axis such that when fluid flows over the main body flow separation is defined adjacent to the second portion. The injection opening is disposed at a first location relative to said flow separation. The suction opening is disposed at a second location relative to said flow separation. The channel extends from the suction opening to the injection opening.

Abstract: A fluid flow conditioning apparatus having self-adjusting tab members that reduce flow losses within a conduit. A plurality of tabular members is affixed to an insertion plate-type flow conditioner. Tabular members are cojoined in pairs at their leading edges. When the cojoined pair of the first tabular member and the second tabular member are placed into a fluid flow, an angle between the first tabular member and the second tabular member is configured to decrease in response to static and dynamic pressure exerted onto the outer surfaces of the tabular members by the fluid flow. The tabular members may be made of a hyperplastic material configured to undergo an elastic deformation and exhibit flapping due to the dynamic pressure of the fluid flow. Tabular members maybe cojoined by a hinge configured to partially close in response to pressure exerted by the fluid flow, decreasing the angle between the tabular members.
