摘要:
A gas/air mixer assembly provides a Venturi metering system that may draw fuel from a zero governor, mix it with air to form a homogenous gas/air mixture for delivery to an internal combustion engine. The gas/air mixer assembly may also accept fuel under pressure from a gas metering valve or fuel injector for delivery to an internal combustion engine. The mixer includes an air horn, the relative position of which in relation to a shaped restriction body governs the air flow into the engine intake manifold. The flange of the air horn is configured to redirect the flow of air without generating significant turbulence, and providing a maximum velocity perpendicular flow to the injection of fuel to be mixed therein. The relative position of the air horn to the shaped restriction body is determined based on the cubic capacity and speed of the engine with which it is used.

The present invention provides an automatic adjustment carburetor capable of offering fuel economy and low pollution, wherein an automatic adjustment air-blocking device and a gas enrichment device are appended in the intake passage of the carburetor. The air-blocking device is disposed in the intake passage in front of a throttle having a fuel needle. The middle section of the intake passage forms a room having a neck. A venturi tubular front part of expanding arc shape was formed extendedly forward from the neck in the intake passage. A rear part of pot belly shape was formed extendedly backward from the neck in the intake passage. An annular groove at the outer end of the intake passage joins an intake annular seat. A positioning shaft has a plurality of positioning grooves installed near two ends thereof. One positioning groove on each end of the positioning shaft joins a locking spring. The front end of the positioning shaft extends into a central hole of the intake annular seat to join a thread screwed with a nut. An air-blocking cone lags the positioning shaft. The front end of the air-blocking cone sticks to the front locking spring. A spring seat with a diameter larger than that of the locking spring is installed at the rear end of the air-blocking cone to lag one end of a spring. The other end of the spring sticks to a protruding locking edge at the other end of the positioning shaft. If the throttle at the rear part generates a negative pressure, the air-blocking cone will reciprocate back and forth. An exit of an emulsifying tube of the gas enrichment device is installed connectedly to the neck. When the air-blocking cone moves backward, the room of the neck changes, and fuel gas adjusts automatically.

A carburetor having a tapered plug adjusting air flow into the throat of a carburetor housing air passageway. A control arm connected to the plug and guided by a groove in the housing shaped to move the plug more rapidly in the upstream than in the downstream portion of the plug travel. A stationary fuel supply tube in a bore in the plug so that movement of the plug controls flow out of the fuel supply tube outlet. The outlet is sheltered and has adjacent baffles to resist fuel pickup in engine air blowback. A needle valve spindle located at the opposite side of the housing from the propeller.

An exhaust gas recirculation valve for installation in the recirculation flow path between the exhaust and intake manifolds of an internal combustion engine. A metering control in the form of an axially displaceable pintle is operative in the flow path of a throat body to form an annular convergent-divergent nozzle. Pintle movement is responsive to predetermined engine variables to vary the throat flow area for continuously maintaining sonic gas flow therethrough. By the pintle being disposed toward closing the throat in a direction counter to the direction of incoming gas flow, sonic flow can be maintained at high efficiency throughout the full range flow capacity required of the valve.

A carburetor for internal combustion engines having a housing including a generally discoidal wall and a hub extending axially from the central portion thereof, an air valve having a relatively flat radially extending surface directed toward and concentric with said discoidal wall and with a central conoidal portion having its apex directed toward the interior of said hub portion. The housing wall and the radially extending surface of the valve define an air passage converging radially inwardly to form an annular valving construction and thence diverge into the interior of said hub. The hub includes an annular fuel passage terminating at its upper end in a circumferential series of micro-passages for directing liquid fuel uniformly distributed into said air passage substantially at said valving constriction at right angles to the direction of air flow. The air valve is adjustable axially toward and away from the discoidal wall of the carburetor housing to regulate the volume of air drawn into the engine with which said carburetor is associated.Fuel is delivered under pressure to the fuel metering valve and from there through said micro-passages and controlled cams simultaneously regulate the axial adjustment of said air valve and the rate of delivery of fuel through said micro-passages according to a predetermined ratio pattern. A third jointly controlled cam simultaneously regulates the ignition timing in accordance with various air and fuel supply settings. The air valve, fuel supply and ignition timing settings are all independent of the existing degree of engine vacuum.

A multi-stage carburetor has a primary throttle bore that is extended into the intake manifold in close proximity to the exhaust gas heated manifold floor, and a secondary bore that surrounds a portion of the primary bore and terminates at the inlet to the intake manifold so as to avoid a restriction to flow of secondary air into the manifold and past the primary passage.

An air valve type carburetor is described having an enlarged mixing chamber in an induction duct. Fuel is supplied to the mixing chamber at a plurality of annularly spaced locations about the circumference of the mixing chamber. An air valve having an umbrella-shaped disc is positioned at the entrance to the mixing chamber for regulating the flow of the air into the mixing chamber in response to the vacuum pressure prevailing in the mixing chamber. The air valve is designed to direct the air radially outward over the disc and along the periphery of the mixing chamber and to create a pressure depression behind the valve to cause the air to flow radially inward in a turbulent eddy into the central portion of the mixing chamber to thoroughly mix the fuel with the air. Fuel is metered to the mixing chamber in amounts responsive to the manifold pressure, atmospheric pressure and mixing chamber pressure. Additionally, the fuel is premixed with air prior to discharge into the mixing chamber. The fuel delivery system includes a plurality of annular chambers about the induction duct with one chamber serving as a fuel well with a plurality of fuel tubes extending from the well to the mixing chamber.
