    摘要: A commutator/manifold assembly controls a flow of hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic fluid system. The assembly includes a commutator having an offset design including an inner portion eccentrically encompassed within an outer portion, and offset commutator porting to control the hydraulic flow. A manifold includes manifold ports having a straight configuration by which walls defining the manifold ports run substantially along a longitudinal axis through an entirety of the manifold. The commutator is configured to rotate to sequentially align the commutator porting with differing portions of the manifold ports to control the flow. The commutator porting includes inner ports and outer ports that are isolated from each other by a commutator seal. A commutator ring has a guiding surface that guides rotation of the commutator. The rotation of the commutator provides a timed flow through the manifold ports straight through the manifold and without any directional flow restriction.

    摘要: An engine includes a housing defining an annular bore and a piston assembly disposed within the annular bore. The engine includes a rotary valve comprising a loop-shaped wall structure defining an opening substantially perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the loop-shaped wall structure. A portion of the rotary valve is disposed within the annular bore such that the axis of rotation of the loop-shaped wall structure is substantially perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the piston assembly. The engine includes a rotary drive mechanism connected to the rotary valve and configured to rotate the rotary valve between a first position to align the opening of the loop-shaped wall structure with the annular bore to allow a piston of the piston assembly to travel within the annular bore and a second position to define a combustion chamber relative to the piston of the piston assembly at the second location.

The valve member is rotatable relative to the pneumatic tool between first and second positions.     摘要: A device for controlling a rotating-piston machine in which inner and outer rotors rotate at unequal speeds and profiled teeth thereon form gaps to define working chambers which move, with change of volume, from an inlet region to an outlet region of the machine. The device comprises a body having a feed channel for a working fluid, a plurality of supply channels which open into the inlet region and two rotary slide valves for controlling communication between the feed channel and the supply channels to fill the working chambers during development of suction therein upon rotation of the rotors. The body has two round cutouts each containing a respective rotary slide valve. One slide valve controls supply of fluid at the beginning of development of suction in each working chamber whereas the other slide valve controls supply fluid at the end of development of suction in each working chamber. Each cut-out is connected to the feed channel and to respective associated pluralities of supply channels.

    摘要: An adjustable rotary vane pump for changing the direction and rate of fluid flow through the pump. The pump comprises a first pump housing having a generally cylindrical chamber therein along a central axis of the housing. A second housing is provided having a second chamber therein coaxially oriented with the first housing. An insert member is provided in the second housing having an aperture therein of a given eccentricity. The insert member is slidably adjustable for rotational movement within the second housing for providing varying cross-sectional dimensions for the fluid flow through the pump. A rotor is disposed in the housing coaxial with the first and second housing. A plurality of vane members are provided on the rotor which respectively engage the walls of the first chamber and the insert member within the pump.

    摘要: An external combustion engine is disclosed of the type including two or more circular rotors rotatably supported, one of the rotors acting as a power rotor and rotating in tangential contact with the other sealing rotor. The power rotor is formed with a radially projecting piston passing into a mating recess with the sealing rotor at a corresponding circumferential location. Steam or other working fluid is admitted via an intake port located opposite one face of the power rotor to cause rotation of the power rotor by expansion of the fluid in a working chamber defined by the space behind the piston. As the power rotor continues to rotate, the working chamber passes into communication with an exhaust port preparator to another power stroke. A vacuum relief port is provided at an intermediate location which relieves any vacuum condition which develops behind the piston during part throttle operating conditions of the engine. A pressure balancing groove is located on a face of the power rotor and pressurized with working fluid to balance the pressure acting on the power rotor by the location of the intake port on the opposite face of the power rotor. An absorber chamber is provided downstream of the throttle valve and upstream of the intake port to smooth out the pressure forces created by intermittent flow of fluid through the intake port. An elliptical port throttle valve design is disclosed which minimizes the wire drawing effect of the working fluid acting on the valve member during operation of the valve. A special rotor sealing surface treatment is disclosed comprising a series of slight depressions or holes formed in the mating faces of the power rotor and which generate a sealing due to condensation of the escaping steam in the surface indentations. Two and three rotor versions of the engine are described as well as one, two, and four power stroke per revolution embodiments.

    摘要: A reversible pneumatic vane motor includes a stator housing with a pressure air inlet passage and an exhaust air outlet passage, a cylinder supported in the stator housing, a vane carrying rotor rotatable in the cylinder and forming a clearance seal portion with the cylinder, air communication ports located at opposite sides of the seal portion for supplying motive pressure air or scavenging exhaust air from the cylinder, a primary outlet diametrically opposite the clearance seal portion, and a directional valve for connecting alternatively the air communication ports to the pressure air inlet passage and the exhaust air outlet passage. The motor also includes auxiliary outlet ports which are located between the primary outlet and each one of the air communication ports, and the directional valve includes control parts for opening up and closing, respectively, communication between the auxiliary outlet ports and the atmosphere via the exhaust air outlet passage.

    摘要: According to one embodiment of the invention, an engine system comprises a housing, an outer gerotor, an inner gerotor, a tip inlet port, a face inlet port, and a tip outlet port. The housing has a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a first endwall, and a second endwall. The outer gerotor is at least partially disposed in the housing and at least partially defines an outer gerotor chamber. The inner gerotor is at least partially disposed within the outer gerotor chamber. The tip inlet port is formed in the first sidewall and allows fluid to enter the outer gerotor chamber. The face inlet port is formed in the first endwall and allows fluid to enter the outer gerotor chamber. The tip outlet port is formed in the second sidewall and allows fluid to exit the outer gerotor chamber.
