    摘要: The present invention relates to a road making material comprising aggregate, bitumen, and a plastics material, wherein: (a) when the road making material is 10 mm stone mastic asphalt, the bitumen comprises at least 4.7% but no more than 5.69% by weight of the aggregate, bitumen, and plastics material mix; (b) when the road making material is 6 mm, 10 mm, or 20 mm asphaltic concrete, the bitumen comprises at least 3.1% but no more than 4.09% by weight of the aggregate, bitumen, and plastics material mix; (c) when the road making material is hot rolled asphalt, the bitumen comprises at least 4.9% but no more than 5.89% by weight of the aggregate, bitumen, and plastics material mix; or (d) when the road making material is heavy duty 32 mm, the bitumen comprises at least 2.4% but no more than 3.39% by weight of the aggregate, bitumen, and plastics material mix.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to compositions of and methods for pelletized recycled asphalt shingles used in asphalt pavement. In particular, the recycled asphalt shingle pellets include a soft center with a biofuel or bio-oil diluent, and a harder, water-resistant shell coating. It is believed that by using a biofuel, such as biodiesel, more recycled asphalt shingles material may be used in the formulation of asphalt cement without compromising the performance grade of the asphalt cement.

    摘要: This invention provides cationic emulsions of bituminous binders of the bitumen/polymer type, formed by a dispersion of an organic phase of the binder in an aqueous phase containing a cationic nitrogenous emulsifier and a mineral or organic acid, the acid being in appropriate quantity so that the pH of the aqueous phase is comprised between 3 and 9. The aqueous phase also contains an agent consisting of at least one water-soluble sequestering salt of phosphonic acid, particularly a salt of alkaline metal or of amine of hydroxyalkyl-1,1-diphosphonic acid, and optionally a water-soluble thickening agent. To obtain the emulsions, which are usable for road applications, the emulsifying agent, the sequestering agent and optionally the thickening agent may be used in the form of a premixture containing the agents and called cationic emulsifying system.

    摘要: A paving mixture for application to a surface and a method for the same are provided. The mixture comprises a binding material layer applied to the surface to form a base layer on the surface, and an aggregate material layer applied on top of the binding material layer. The binding material layer can be applied in an amount of at most 0.125 gallons/yd2. The aggregate material layer contains an asphalt mixture that provides a road surface. The aggregate material layer and the binding material layer can be combined on the surface within 30 seconds of application of the binding material layer. Additionally, multiple paving mixtures may be applied to the surface.
