Abstract: In order to increase the security of value or security documents 100, a multi-luminescent security element 400 is provided which contains at least one first luminescence means 510 and at least one second luminescence means 520. The first luminescence means 510 can be excited under first excitation conditions Sp-1 for the purpose of luminescence, and the second luminescence means 520 can be excited under second excitation conditions Sp-2 for the purpose of luminescence, said second excitation conditions Sp-2 differing from the first excitation conditions Sp-1. The multi-luminescent security element 400 is additionally equipped with at least one absorber means 600 which prevents an excitation of the at least one first luminescence means 510 under the second excitation conditions Sp-2 for the purpose of luminescence.

Abstract: An item such as a fabric-based item may have a layer of fabric such as a layer of woven fabric. The fabric layer may include warp and weft strands. The fabric may cover keys in a keyboard or may be used in forming other structures in the fabric-based item. Each key may have an illuminated key label. Portions of the fabric may be processed by pressing heated protrusions on a textured mold into polymer optical fibers in the fabric. The protrusions form corresponding light-scattering recesses in cladding portions of the optical fibers. Light-emitting diodes or other light sources may be coupled to respective end surfaces of the optical fibers. The light-emitting diodes emit light that is emitted from the thermally imprinted light-emitting regions formed by pressing the heated protrusions into the optical fibers.

Abstract: The present invention provides a preparation method of aramid fiber far-infrared emitting paper. In the present invention, para-aramid chopped fiber and para-aramid pulp fiber are used as paper base functional materials with excellent characteristics of high specific strength and high specific stiffness. In addition, the para-aramid chopped fiber and the para-aramid pulp fiber can form a paper material with pores and porous channels, and carbon nanotubes are embedded into the structural pores and porous channels of the paper material. Therefore, the aramid fiber far-infrared emitting paper has better molding quality and composite performance. Results of embodiments indicate that: A far-infrared wavelength emitted by the aramid fiber far-infrared emitting paper provided in the present invention is 4 μm to 20 μm, a main frequency band thereof is approximately 10 μm, and far-infrared conversion efficiency is up to 99%; and the aramid fiber far-infrared emitting paper has tensile strength of 0.12 KN/mm2 to 0.18 KN/mm2, and can be bent and folded.

Abstract: The present application relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two constituents: at least one chromophore constituent and at least one polymeric constituent. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. The whitening agents are further characterized by the polymeric component comprising at least two repeating glycerol units. This disclosure also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.

The compositions and methods maintain or enhance brightness, prevent yellowing, and enhance the performance of paper products. The compositions can include a mixture of reducing agents and can also include optical brighteners, chelants, polycarboxylates, or other additives. The mixture of reducing agents can include a borohydride, such as sodium borohydride, and any other reducing agent, such as a sulfite or bisulfite.
